DH and I are planning one night out for a late anniversary dinner. Any suggestions? We're dining at Boma and I've heard Jiko is similar(in taste) We're looking at Jiko, Artist Point, or Cali. Grill. Would love to hear your suggestions if you've dined at any of these restaurants. ;)

Cali Grill is one of my favorite places to eat. The view is fantastic and the food is even better. I do like Artist Point, but not so much for an anniversary dinner.

 Cali Grill no doubt.......... the view is awesome and the ambience is great. The food and wine selection is very 5 star. Be sure to rsvp a window table on the MK side so you can have the most spectacular view of the fireworks or just have your dinner there and then go out on the north terrace to view the fireworks while the music is piped in from the show. Hope you enjoy!!pirate:

Am I the only one who doesn't like Cali Grill? We just ate there last night- I was expecting great things but I was VERY underwhelmed. My goat cheese ravioli was just ok, my filet was tough. The view WAS cool but I much prefer Wishes from Main Street! DBF did enjoy his flatbread & we both liked the Banana Butterscotch Buzz. I wouldn't spend 2 TS credits here again though....JMO.

I was going to recommend Cali Grill, but it's been a few years since I was there. The previous poster certainly didn't seem to enjoy it.

Whenever we were there the food was good and the view, particularly after dark is great.

That would be my choice for an anniversary dinner.

Another dissenting opinion about CG. We much prefer Artist Point. We are very impressed with the service there. And the menu is much different than you'll find in any other restaurant. Make your ADR's for later in the evening (say after 7:30) and have a nice relaxing meal. Consider adding the wine flight as well. We have a favorite server there - Pok - she's very good!

Whichever you chose, be sure to let them know about your anniversary when you make your reservations

Jiko and Artist Point are among my favorites at WDW. They both have great food and service. I like Jiko a little bit more, but both would be wonderful for an anniversary dinner.

Cal Grill has great food, but it is a pretty loud and hectic place, not something I would recommend for a quiet dinner.

I've not read even one bad review of this place....we are trying it for the first time next Sunday  They have lobster too (included on the DDP).

I've dined at all three of those restaurants.

I would not go to Jiko. I've eaten there twice, and I don't get what all of the fuss is about. The first time the food was just all right, but the service was excellant, so I decided to give it another try. The second time, the food was just all right again, but the service was horrible.

California Grill I loved. It is probably the most formal restaurant I've eaten at in Disney. The food was very good and the service was excellant. Plus I was able to enjoy Wishes during my meal.

Artist Point I've eaten at twice, and it's very good. The food was very good, but the best things were the buffalo steak and the coffee two ways for dessert. The service was good too, but better at California Grill.

CG is great, the food and the view, the only thing is that it can get a bit noisy, so ask for the wine room. If you want quieter then I'd got o AP, that tends to be a little quieter.

We are going to CG on 12/23 for our anniversary dinner. We will have our 11 year old with us though, so not really looking for quiet and romantic, just something special.

We are also going to Narcoossee's on our upcoming trip and cannot wait! Ours is a family first night dinner on Aug. 30th, and we'll see Wishes and the Electric water parade from the deck there.

There is a review of Narcoossee's from a couple on the Dining Review board. "Narcoossee's added" is listed in the title. Numerous other diners have noted they are repeat visitors to the place and have favorite servers. Kevin Klose from DIS did a taped review of this place several months ago, that review sealed the decison for us. I'm not sure if you can still listen to it on the site. That group raved about Narcoossee's.

Since you hadn't listed Narccoossee's I was gonna stay silent, but since PP opened the door, I had to walk through! Sorry to add one to your decision matrix, but everything I've read suggests it worth serious consideration. We choose it vs CA Grille.

Congrats on your milestone and have a great celebration.

I highly recommend Jiko!!!!I had the best meal of my life at Jiko. When I stay at AKL 3 nights in 12/07 I will be eating there twice(Boma once). California Grill was also good.I am trying AP for the 1st time in 12/07 and am really looking forward to it. I don't think you can make a bad choice with the restaurants you are choosing from. Narcoose's was also good.
Enjoy what ever you decide.:)

Thanks for everyone's input! You guys are terrific! We've decided on Narcoossee's. The lobster convinced me! Looking forward to a lovely evening.
