Which side of the Matterhorn?

The CMs are used to guest asking for one person per seat. This can be religious taboos, moral objections, big people, stiff legs, and other reasons. They easily adjust as a party of 4 with two sitting apart means 3 seats just as if a party of 5 had been there. I have done that since before my dad died way back in the 1990's

Yeah, my family of four usually goes one-a-seat, so we take up the entire... car, is it? What's the term for the total toboggan?

they are a pair of bobsleds and originally each car/bobsled was one solo vehicle and they have two seats for 4 persons unless it is me then one person per seat.

We rode this week and I have to say that I preferred the ride part of the Tomorrowland side with the drops but it was definitely jerkier and gave me a headache too. I wanted to ride the Fantasyland side but the kids always wanted to ride the TL side. We found that the the TL side line was a longer line because people didn't seem to realize it split off and there was only an attendant there once that I can remember. Even when the line looked daunting and wrapped around the back, it never took more than 15-20 minutes Wed. or Thurs this week and it was BUSY at the park.

I am going to say that whatever side is running is the best side!! :rotfl: We were there this week and I swear we tried to ride that thing at least 4-5 times and it was either broken down or the line was too long!!!

We did end up getting on it and I don't remember that we got to pick a side.....I believe there was only 1 line and you just got on whatever boblsed you got. We rode the Tomorrowland side and yes, it was bumpy, jerky, I got a headache AND I lost my new hat at the very end where the last snow monster guy is! :scared1:

was it red or grey??? I saw two hats and a sock?? Who loses a sock? Sorry you lost your hat. My daughter left sunglasses on Buzz Lightyear and we couldn't believe lost and found had them the next day.

That's funny you saw a sock! On this trip, I saw a pair of a little girl's underwear on the ground.....and now I can't remember where I was when I saw them! I assumed someone dropped them out of a diaper bag or something but my first thought was EEEWWWWWW!

I did get my hat back the next day! I went to City Hall first and they sent me to Lost & Found. A very nice older gentleman was so sweet to me there. I had my b-day button on and as we talked for a minute, he picked up the phone and said "I think there's a phone call for you"......so I took the phone and it was a recorded message of Goofy singing Happy Birthday! While I was listening to it, he went and got my hat for me! My hat was white with a sequin Mickey on the front and now it has a few grease marks from the ride on it! I'm going to try and see if I can get them out. :laundy:

Our family prefers the TL side because of the previously mentioned dip. FL side is a gentler ride. Both are fun. Not sure what to make out of all of these headache issues - we've never had them. Maybe that yeti is hitting people in the head when they pass by! They usually close the FL side before and during the parade - not sure if they do that for the new parade though.

To be honest, I never knew there was a TL side and a FL side until I started using DIS! :disrocks: I think I might have been using the FL entrance this whole time. Where are the two entrances? I don't think I've ever noticed a Matterhorn entrance in TL, just the one in FL. Now I really want to try TL for that extra dip!!

tomorrowland slide is much more fun
why dont you just do both?

The "Entrances" to both are only about 10 - 15 feet apart (separated by a little booth/building). The first thing in the morning on a MM or at rope drop regular day, you literally can decide if you want to take 3 steps to the left or 3 steps to the right (since there's no line) to ride on the different tracks.

But later in the day the lines wrap around the mountain (the FL side wraps around near Alice's bathrooms & the TL side wraps around near where the Nemo entrance is.

I agree with the previous poster....DO both...AND if possible do both at night too. :thumbsup2

I like both sides because they both have something fun to offer... but if you are going to ride the Matterhorn first thing in the morning, it will be slower... it seems that in the A.M. the ride is slower, but after a while, during the day, it is much faster... :thumbsup2

Is the separate line for the FL-side open later in the day?

I thought the separate line for the FL-side was open in the morning and afternoon, and then was closed shortly before the parade.

And then, after the parade, the long line from the TL-side feeds both "entrances" (tracks).

TIA :earsboy:

Good point. At some point, they wouldn't allow the line to wrap around the Alice side since the parade route is right there.

SS Columbia, do you (or anyone) know when they shut down the FL side line & have BOTH sides of the ride served by the line from the Nemo side (because of the parade)?

I prefer TL side, but when I ride with my little ones,we opt for the smoother (and i feel a little slower)FL side.
