Which seat on ROTM ?

Anyone have any input as to which seat is the best on ROTM as far as air time, able to see things the best, etc. Thought I read somewhere that you get a little wet in the front row. Any comments ?

You can get wet in every seat. For more airtime ride in the back to see the stuff better ride in the front row.

If you ride in front, you get a much better view. The back gives more "air time." I prefer the front becuase I love seeing the animatronics.

I would say try both at least one time.

The far left-hand seat in the back row is the best for "air."

Prove me wrong. :p

Thanks, everyone!! I love all these tips I am getting from reading this board!! You guys rock!! LOL

Every rider on the left side of the car should wear rib-cage protection on their left side.
Or at least keep your hands firmly on the lap-bar (like the manufacturer probably recommends)

Call it a spoiler alert if you like, but when the car hits the top of the "major launch", it breaks to the right! Good idea to be holding on (or at least prepared for it).

Every seat is good, front row left at the steering wheel is great. Our car never had the steering wheel tho.

Wet? I must be missing something, when does this happen, we rode several times and have never seen water yet... what part of the ride? (Of course we haven't been seen it "opened" yet, thats next weekend).

Edited: Do you mean the drops when you are in the scarab area?

It's not like a deluge or anything. There is a bit of water in the scarab area and a bit of water in the fake unload area. It's more obvious in the front row than in the rest of the car.

There is only a little water. You get sprayed in the treasure room, the scarab room, and when the glassbreaks in the "unload." You also get a little spray when you go through the fog.

Kelly, I won't even try to prove you wrong! I sat in that seat this morning! I also agree with that the people who sit in the left, outside seats need rib protection. Holy Cow, it was just that one turn but if you aren't really braced that kind of hurt! Out of my three rides I liked the right, outside seat the best. I was in row two for that one but it was the most comfortable and you seem to have a little more room in the outside seats. :)

I definitely agree about the hard right on the first launch.
Best to put the largest person in your group all the way to the left.
I was sitting in that seat the first time we rode
and my 6'2" husband just about ended up in my little 5'2" lap!
The next time we rode, I knew better and made him sit on the left.
Just make sure you hang on!
Oh - and the "mist" really got my friends' glasses wet.
When we got off, the attendant even tried to "windshield-wipe" their glasses.
Really funny!

How about the hard stops? This sounds like an amazing ride but I've read about these hard stops and I wonder exactly how rough that would be on a person's back? Do you fly forward and then get slammed back at all? I've seen the vid from Test Track and the breaking tests on that ride have me concerned as well, but I so really want to ride ROTM, it sounds like a real blast of a ride!! Comments welcomed ::yes::

I didn't think that the stops were as bad as I had heard other people saying they were but it might just be one of those things that affects people differently. I don't think that they are as bad as the ones on Test Track personally. :)

I can't remember where it happend (I was too busy hanging on) but I hit my right elbow on something and brought home a major bruise that is still purple. I loved the ride but thought it was much rougher than described and the drops were a little more than I was expecting. I love space mtn and rocknrollercoaster and thought the mummy was suppose to be tame. HA! can't wait to ride it again though. :D

I hope not Michelle because I plan on riding :hyper:. It is odd that people are getting bruises since it's not a carnival ride, yet I saw a picture of the ride vehicle and it looks like there is a bit that a person could slam themselves on. May I ask where in the car you were sitting Metallicat?

Has anyone ridden the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland? I wonder if it is that rough, I laughed my head off at the sheer joy of the suprise that ride gave me! The first time is always the best isn't it!

I hit the funny bone on my elbow, not hard enough to get a bruise though. It happened on the part where you get a little "airtime" on the coaster. I was on the right on the outside seat. Instead of holding on to the lapbar, I had my right arm resting on the outside edge of the car. Think of it as how you rest your arm when the window is rolled down in your car and you rest your arm on the door of the car where the window is down.

I got some air time and lifted an inch or so off my seat, and when I came down I hit my elbow.

After reading your books, I would never try to prove you wrong!

Far left hand seat in the back row it is.

I believe I was sitting 3rd row to the far left. my bruise was on my right arm on the funny bone part of my elbow. it was right after the launch and downhill. I think it was how I was resting my arm on the lap bar. I'll hold on better next time. :D
