I see mixed reviews on each. Which company do you reccommend? Apple or Buena Vista or some place else? BV is twice the cost of Apple is there a reason?
Thank you. I' appreciate any advice.

Walker Mobility is the best rental outfit for WDW, My DMIL needs a scooter/or wheelchair on each visit and Walker always has delivered them on time and in great condition.

We had a problem at a park once called Walker and they came out with a replacement in under 2 hours and met us in the park with it.

The reason BV is expensive is that they rent space for their location on the Boardwalk and also rent space for their storage/repair facility on WDW. So not only are they paying rent to Disney, they are probably also paying a commission.

I have used Apple on a couple of occasions and have not had any issues with them. In fact until the change with Disney and the way scooters are being handled in November, I can't remember anyone having a problem with them. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

If I were going to rent, it would be from Walker. I had a friend who called me from our local airport. Her DH forgot her seat to her ECV when he packed the car. she was in tears. She gave me her CC info. I called Walker and explained the situation to them, told them where she was staying, etc...they had an ECV waiting for her when she got there which was less than 3 hrs later!!! Now I know they are not a preferred provider, but with the issues I've seen reported about Apple (who is) lately I'd go with Walker and just meet up with them for delivery. They are AWESOME!!! that's my .02!

We used Walkers for years and never had a problem with them. However, for our last two trips we used Apple (just because they were cheaper) and did not have a problem with them either. I'd recommend either of them very highly. However, WDW has Apple as a preferred provider that can just leave the ECV at bell services, so I'd probably go with them again. With Walkers you'd have to arrrange a drop off and pick up time and have to meet the driver.

I just used Apple and it all went well. The scooter was at my resort when I arrived and I just left it with bell services upon my departure. It could not have been easier. Also, it held a charge all day- sometimes two days depending upon how much we did.

The one thing I would recommend is checking to see if it has a headlight. I brought battery-operated Christmas tree lights just for fun which turned out to be a good move since I rented the smallest, least expensive ECV which had no light. A fellow ECV used was quite envious of my lights as he said people couldn't see him at night and ran into him constantly.

I just called both Buena Vista and Walker today and between the two, I like Walker for one huge reason - BV said they would deliver to my resort by 8AM the first day of my rental, Walker said they'd be there the night before at 7-8PM. I really don't want to go downstairs to my lobby, hoping to see my ECV there, having to teach myself very quickly how to disassemble/reassemble the ECV. Walker will be able to meet me in the lobby and the person delivering the ECV will show me what to do. Much less stress!

Trying to decide on company to rent scooters too. Does Walkers provide insurance and how much does it cost? Also, at value resorts where do the preferred providers leave the scooters? There is a concierge at the registration desk but bell hop is further away.

If you are thinking that Walkers is a preferred provider and are thinking of renting from them for this reason, they are not one of them. Most places that I have stayed at, the scooters were always near the bell hop station.

In the FAQ's section at the top of the forum, Sue has listed the 5 preferred providers that are allowed to drop off their equipment. All others you have to meet for pick up and delivery.

Walker's costs an extra $20 for their insurance.

I have used Aplle twice and absolutely 100% happy with them. Will use them again on next trip
