We are very tentatively thinking about going to Disney next year (only if the airfare ever comes down - I refuse to pay more than $200 per ticket!). In the past, we have taken the kids out of school, but my older daughter will be in 7th grade and she says she would be too stressed to miss a week of school. So, our two school breaks will be February 17 through February 25 and April 14 through April 22. Assuming I have no other options, which of these two weeks would be the best to maximize our ride experiences in the parks? (I know the weather can be very iffy in February, so lets just talk about crowds). Thanks!!

Definitely February. You do not want to go during Easter if you can help it! The crowds are horrendous--if it's any indication, the seasonal passholders, who have black-out dates during the busiest times of the year, are blacked out for 2 weeks in April every year. Goes for most of the summer & right around Christmas as well.

Go in February---you won't be disappointed. :)

Feb. will definitely be less crowded, but April COULD be okay too depending on when Easter is. The week before and the week after Easter are very crowded, but we went once 2 weeks prior to Easter and it was moderate at best. When is Easter in 07??? If you want to swim, pick April, but the other week will have lower crowds.

I believe I read that Easter will be on April 8th. So would that still have that much of an effect on the crowds by the 14th?

Another thing to keep in mind is that by April the Florida heat has arrived. February is very mild. Maybe a light jacket in the evening.

We went in Feb. 2006 and had no problems with crowds. Lots of people, but never waited more than 15 mins for rides(except the safari in AK). Fastpass really helped. Have reservations at SSR for Feb 2007 even though we have both easter and presidents week off. The heat and the crowds are too much to bear in late march-april. pirate:
