Which Roomba?

I am looking to get a Roomba but my head is spinning with the different choices. I will have hardwood (kitchen) and carpet that the Roomba needs to be able to clean. We also have a dog that does not shed a ton, but does shed. Any opinions from people who have one?

Thanks!

I have a Roomba and two Neato Botvacs, also bought primarily to tackle pet hair. I have a strong, strong preference for the Neato brand. It does a much better job. My older model is the D-80. My newer one is whatever the updated version of that is, but I can’t remember off the top of my head.

I have a Shark Ion Robot. Started with 1 now I have 3, one for each level of my home. I have hardwood flooring, carpet and tile and it works great on all those surfaces. My MIL has a Roomba. I think mine cleans much better, especially in corners, and is a lot more quiet.

We burned thru 3 roombas in the past, as they couldn't keep up with the cat and dog hair on our hardwood floors, even with the models advertised for pets. I got tired of emptying the bin every day, and had to constantly clean the brushes to keep them from sticking. I gave up on robot vacuums for several years.

I got a Shark IQ for Christmas and really like it. It has a self-emptying tower that only needs dumped weekly (I could probably go longer) and just requires pushing a button while holding the tower bin over the trashcan. No digging around the dirt to get it all out. The brushes underneath stay much cleaner than the Roomba brushes, since they are designed differently, though I do need to clean out the end of it weekly - also easy as the wadded up hair slides off the end. It is quieter than my former Roombas. It cleans as well or better than my 15yo ds who was formerly in charge of vacuuming. LOL I still need to vacuum myself if I'm going to mop, but for day to day cleaning I like it.

We bought the wyze vac. I really love wyze products. They originally had me on the price of the camera I thought what did i have to loose. We loved it so much i have almost every product. We bought both vacs they make and love how strong the vacuums are.

I think I would like that brand. It’s got the same features that makes me prefer Neato over Roomba — room mapping, path planning, and the methodical back-and-forth cleaning. The Roomba’s method of bouncing indiscriminately around the room drives me nuts, not to mention it’s less efficient.

I would look at getting a Neato brand one.

The lowest cost Roomba on the market right now just bounce around the home without tracking where it is going, and when it thinks it is done (or the battery is low) it will try to find the homebase to charge itself.

The lowest cost Neato on the market right now has laser tracking in it and will clean a whole home. You can also block off rooms on the app so it won't go into them if you want. The only downside to the lowest selling Neato doesn't have the side brush like the Roomba.

Our roomba was always going over stuff and not picking it up. I really hate sweeping when I just bought a expensive vac so I dont have to. We have all tile in our house two messy boys and a long haired cat. So I took it back and bought this one and never for one minute regretted it. The hand vac is awesome too
