Stayed at Hawthorn on I-drive in 2004 and loved it! Started planning again for April 2008 Yippee!! :goodvibes .

Planning 7 days in LBV and looking for recommendations for suite type rooms. Need a bit of space for me and 3ds's(19,17,11).

Not driving so needs to be easy walk to cheapish restuarants and reasonable shuttles.

So far I'm thinking Courtyard Palm Parkway/ Hawthorn /Homewood, but can't decide. :confused3

Can anyone help please?
(also having 5 nights at POP and 2 nights at Universal :cool1: )

What about Cypress Pointe Resort? Just up from the Crossroads.

I shouldn't really recommend it as I've not stayed here yet myself, but we got a 3 bedroom "villa" for £32 a night (yes, really) through www.hotelopia.com

It seems to be within walking distance of quite a few restaurants, and has nice pools and communal areas too. I did loads of research before booking and it seemed a great fit for the price.

Here's the website with resort details, room plans etc:

Try asking Wayneg about Courtyard Palm Parkway he is staying there right now for 3 weeks and it's not his first stay. Send him a PM and he'll tell it like it is.
We will be there in Nov. so I'll be able to help then.

I've not stayed in LBV before, but we've booked the Courtyard Palm Parkway for our stay in September. It looks really nice and all the reviews on tripadvisor.com were positive. I've looked it up on a map online and there are good restaurants within walking distance and shuttles to the disney parks.

Thanks everyone.
Back to google earth to look for cypresse point. I think that gives me a better idea of distance. That was a major bargain Miffy2003!
Will try Wayneg - thanks for the tip. :thumbsup2

Hi, Yes we are here at Courtyard LBV. Staying in a suite for first 10 nights then moving to a std room for 15 nights. Suite cost me about £37/night. std room £25/night.
The suite is ok but not as big as Homewood suites on Idrive. Definitely bigger than the std rooms though. Personally we prefer the std rooms as they have internal access but thats just us, and there are only 3 of us.
Suites have liitle kitchen area incl microwave and fridge. Little table and 2 chairs. 2 seater sofa, 1 chair and coffee table. then usual bedroom.
Let me know if you want any more info.
Wayne

I've stayed at Courtyard by Marriott a few times too (last time in April) and like Wayneg, prefer the rooms to the suites - in fact we had one of the darkest suites ever there (living room/kitchen part), whereas the rooms are a decent size and bright. Nice hotel though, good location and can be had for a good price (got it for £26 pn in November for relatives).

I like Homewood Suites too and its inclusive breakfast was good but have only stayed at the Kissimmee one by the junction with I4 and 192 (years ago). My SIL, also a fan of that particular HS, stayed at the one just off International recently and didn't think it was as good for some reason, although I'd expected they would all be the same, but she's a smart cookie so what do I know :confused3

I was once looking at Hawthorn Suites LBV for SIL and they showed me around a ground floor one and it looked very good. This is a few years ago though. That one used to be highly rated by the Unofficial Guide I think.

Karen's (Miffy) rate at Cypress Pointe Resort sounds brilliant for a suite in that location :thumbsup2

Another vote for Cypress Pointe here. Gerat location and nice suites.

Does that mean you've stayed there?

Wow - I just looked and it looks great for the price, we may be doing a budget trip (2 adults and 2 little uns) sept/oct, for a two bed suite £35.00 a night (via hotelopia) is fab. I was hoping to book a townhouse or small villa for about £750.00 but getting that sort of accom in under £500.00 is too good of a bargain to turn down. Means more spending money or a better car!

Glad I stumbled on this thread! The beauty of the DIS!

I suppose most important for me is being able to walk to restuarants - all above seem good for that and now I've started looking at Staybridge suites as well!!!

Shuttles important too. Has anyone used shuttle from Cypress pointe to disney?

Was looking at the suite in Marriott Wayneg -£46 from alpha rooms - where did you find your rate? Fantastic! Does it have two doubles in the bedroom bit?

We'll need a bit of space after Pop! Never stayed with 4 adult sized people in a standard room before! Hawthorn on ID was great with good layout - was really looking for something similar in LBV at a great price! ( Not asking much am I!!! :rotfl: )

If anyone can find you a great rate, Wayne can

Sheraton Safari share the same courtesy coach as Courtyard and it is pretty good with a bus leaving every hour from different parks up until 12.40 leaving from the TTC. This means you can Disney bus it to MK as late as you like and then pick up the courtesy bus from TTC.

If its early April you are wanting then you will have to pay Easter rates, always found its the most expensive time of year, along with Xmas. Always seem to get good rates in August. I have booked a 2 bed condo for next Easter as it worked out cheaper than 2 hotel rooms(taking DS's friend)
The suite bedroom here has 2 doubles yes.

I have about 35-40 sites I check for prices but they are the main ones. I just search site after site, usualy one of them has an offer on. Can take time and patience but also save you hundreds of £'s.

Yes we have stayed here a few times, love the location and the rooms.

We booked our hotel room at the Marriott Courtyard just a week ago for our stay in September. For a standard double room we've paid £29 a night and booked through Airline Network.
