We're thinking of staying at the All Star Sports. Which building is best? I heard that they're done some renovations. Have all of the rooms been redone or just some of them? Do you like this resort (we have to choose a value) and why? We've never stayed at Disney and I appreciate the help.

I can't answer all the questions your asking, but on the refurb front, depending on when you're planning to arrive, the complete refurb is scheduled to be completed by the middle/end of February 08. ALL the buildings will then be the same and newly done.

Just read also on the DIS front pages that The Grand Slam pool is going to be closed for refurb from the 04/21 to sometime in May 08. There is another pool which can be used during this time :)

I have stayed at All-Star Sports 9 times and really like it.Pop Century is newer than the All-Star Resorts(Sports,Music,Movies),so it has that advantage. It also has a lake. Most,if not all,of the rooms at All-Star Sports should have been refurbished by now.I stayed in a refurbished room in Home Run Hotel in August and December. They are really nice.Surf's Up is the closest section to Stadium Hall but it carries a $12.00 per night surcharge.I really like the theming at Home Run Hotel and it is the closest section to All-Star Music so it is fairly convenient to use Music's buses and pools from there in addition to Sports' buses and pools. The 3 All-Star resorts are very similar. The main difference is the themes of each,so you may want to go with the theme that you like best.I stayed at Pop Century a few days after it opened in 2003 and I think it is a little bit nicer than the All-Stars but not a great deal.I prefer to stay at All-Star Sports because of the sports theming. It was also the resort I stayed at during my first trip to WDW so there is also a sentimental attachment.:)
