Wondering which child rides will I be able to hold my DD2 on my lap? I realize that some rides require a lap bar, but just in case she gets skittish it would be nice to be able to hold her on my lap. There is no greater comfort than mama's lap.:lovestruc

I would guess any ride that doesn't have a lap bar, she could ride in your lap. If the ride has a lap bar or seat belt, your DD2 will be required to snuggle next to you. This is for her safety.

Great thread. I was wondering that too since I'll have my 14 month old (at the time) with us.

I've help my DD on my lap on Pirates and Haunted Mansion. a couple of the rides that they made me put her on the seat were Flicks Fliers and Francis' Lady Bug Boogie.

Oh, glad to hear that I can hold her if needed on the Pirates ride. I don't want her to miss that one! I hear that the Dl version is way better than WDW ride.Cool!

There are quite a few rides she could ride on your lap, and then several with the lap bar where she can just snuggle next to you.

On your lap:
POTC
HM
Mad Tea Cups
Jungle Cruise
Storybookland Canal Boats
Its a Small World (if open, dont know when your going)
Buzz
Roger Rabbit (?) cant remember for sure, but I think so
Matterhorn if she is tall enough to ride, 35" minimum
Nemo
Casey Jr. Train
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Disneyland Railroad

Snuggle next to you:
All of the above, plus
Peter Pans Flight
Snow Whites Scary Adventures
Autopia
Mr. Toads Wild Ride
Many Advenures of Winnie the Pooh
Pinocchios Daring Journey

HTH!!

I wanted to add that they made me put my 2 month old on the seat of the teacups and hold her upright. And they had me face her forward on my lap for some rides such as Mr. Toad, Peter Pan, and Snow White, but not Pirates, Storybook Boats, or Monsters, Inc. On those I cradled her in my arms. And on Dumbo they had me hold her in my lap facing forward and buckled the seatbelt over both of us.

Thank you , thank you, thank you and gaucho2000 as well! Great info. I am relieved to know that there are some rides that I can hold her on just in case. Whew!!A huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.:cheer2:

BTW, oddly enough Its a Small WOrld will be closed for my trip. THis is odd bc I have been to WDW several times and have yet to EVER ride it. It has always been closed. I usually went in the off season so that may be why. Also, have not been on HM and POTC. Those should be open when we go. Me and DBF will be doing "switch off" so I look forward to finally being able to ride them. Yippeee!

This ride was refurbished a few years ago after a child fell out of a car on this ride. I don't think they will allow lap-sitting on this ride; a child will have to sit on the inside.
