Which rides to avoid for motion sickness and too scary?

Hi! We are planning our first visit to WDW and I'm trying to figure out which rides we should avoid. Here is what we do/don't do at Disneyland...

I get very motion sick and will not go on Startours or the Teacups. But my DH will take my DD8 on those rides and they love them, especially Startours. But I am OK on Soarin'.

We do not really like roller coasters. The only exception is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which we will do once, but not over and over again. I don't get sick on BTMRR, but I would get very sick on Space Mountain.

My daughter is scared some things, so we have never done them with her...like California Screamin' and Tower of Terror. Just seeing the old dilapidated hotel makes her scared!

Is there a good list of what we should avoid? Or what I should avoid but my DH and DD8 should do?

Thanks for any tips!

Mission Space for sure -- if you have MS (motion sickness) you'll get it on M:S (Mission: Space)!
Teacups -- even if you don't spin the cup, you're still going around in circles.
Autopia -- some MS-sensitive folks get sick from the jerky motion and gas fumes.
Space Mountain -- jerky, dips and turns, mostly in the dark.
Dinosaur -- jerky, dips and turns, mostly in the dark.
Rock n Roller Coaster -- smooth, dips and turns, mostly in the dark (anyone seeing a pattern here?).

And you're in luck -- there's no equivalent to California Screamin' at WDW -- probably the closest experience (because of the LIM launch) is Rock N Roller coaster.

Let's see what everyone else thinks...

My older daughter has severe motion sickness issues and she avoids what you have listed: Star Tours, Teacups, Space Mountain, and when she is with us, we avoid Disney's Magical Express and rent a car at the airport.

For Epcot we avoid Mission Space. She will ride Soarin' at DL because we request the very top of the center section... seeing swinging feet and the sides of the screen do her in.

For Animal Kingdom, she survived Expedition Everest but has never ridden it again... this ride may be too scary for your daughter. She also avoids Primeval Whirl. I can't remember if the Safari was okay for her - it can be very jerky and jostle you around. Do you ride Indiana Jones in DL? If it's okay for you, then you'll be fine on Dinosaur. It's the same track and motion as Indy.

In DHS, she will ride RnRC - it is similar to California Screamin'. She's not fond of TSMM due to the quick turns. She can handle ToT and it is always a must-do when she's in the park.

We also have to consider the Monorail and will often Valet park at Contemporary to avoid the ferry and monorail to get to MK.

I second a consideration of EE; there is a dip-with-a-turn in the backward section that could trigger the motion sickness. I can't do circles, and that section is sometimes too much for my tummy and ears.

The only ride I have had problems with is Mission Space and it was really bad. I thought I was going to have to use the barf bag!

I also get motion sickness with any kind of spinning. Out for me:

-Teacups
-Everest (rode this once and felt ill for the rest of the day - it's an awesome ride if you can stomach it though)
-That spinning dinosaur roller coaster (forgot the name!) in AK. Not as bad as teacups for me, but pretty uncomfortable.
-Mission Space: Orange (I know better than to try this one!) :)

Personally I had no issues with Dinosaur, or Mission Space:Green (this was very mild).

DD did not like scary stuff when younger (she's a bit braver now). Her avoid list includes:
-Haunted Mansion (she hates the part where they shut the lights off at the beginning...)
-Tough to be a Bug (scary looking bugs pop out at you, and poke you in the rear)
-Stitch

We would not even attempt Tower of Terror or the HS roller coaster, naturally.

I get motion sick easily - and I avoid:

MK:
Teacups
Carousel
Dumbo
Aladdin
Astro Orbitor
And believe it or not - sometimes Pooh.

I can usually tolerate on a cooler or windy day Autopia - otherwise - add in the fumes with the stop and start - that can be bad. Really wish Disney would move to electric cars without the fumes.

I don't get sick on BTMRR or Space Mountain

HS:

RnRC
ToT - but this is NOT about motion sickness - I don't like the drop
Star Tours - this one is AWFUL

AK:

Dinosaur
Primeval Whirl

I can do EE, but I'm not a huge roller coaster fan, so I only ride it some trips

EPCOT:

Mission Space - even Green. Avoid at all costs

For SOARIN - the trick for me on this one is to close my eyes part of the time. It doesn't really move that much - but the visual makes you THINK you are.

Another trick - is staying really well-hydrated. If I don't stay WELL hydrated at Disney - any ride can make me sick. The minute the "goo" inside your inner ear decreases or gets crystals in it - you can be in trouble with any motion.
