How do I receive my attraction photos?
A: After you finish riding a participating attraction, the guest with the Memory Maker entitlement needs to stop at that attractions Sales Center within 24 hours and associate the photo to their MagicBand, Memory Maker card or Disney PhotoPass Card.
In theory, I suppose. During our recent trip (4-11 Jan 2014), Photopass pix were waiting for us online later in the day they were taken. Two whole days of ride photos, OTOH, never made it. Online help was initially no help at all. DS visited the photo center at EC and spoke with a CM who knew the story. Here's what they recommended, and here's what we did:
At each ride with MM entitlement (enumerated elsewhere), record the photo number and optionally take a photo of the monitor. Retain these in case of problems later. Then ask photo purchase CM to put ride photo on your MM, and
put it on a ride photopass as backup. Many CMs have been hearing complaints about ride photos not making it onto MM directly, and were willing to do this. One CM asked me for 15 bucks; I declined and had another CM put it on a ride photopass later. Then you can claim the photos later.
The ride photopass backup will probably not be issued so willingly after kinks have been shaken out of the MM setup, but do retain at least the photo number and, if you have it, the screenshot of the monitor, until the photos are in-hand in the digital sense.
We were able to obtain some of our ride photos from our first theme park day this most recent visit; the online "my photos are missing" route did bear at least some fruit. The $149 advance purchase would have been an unqualified thumbs up experience were it not for the aggravation of dealing with the missing ride photos (and the disappointment of those still lost in the ether). We'll probably go for the MM next time. So be advised, keep those number chits, at the very least, -- date them -- and you will hopefully avoid the issues that tainted our experience.
