Not bashing Disney! Not bashing others' opinions (so please no flames if someone does not like COP!)

Just curious on other peoples' opinions & thought this could be fun.

Which Rides & Shows in Disney should be pulled out or changed?
Which ones do you skip?
What would you change?

Hey I like the original poster don't to get anyone mad of course heres a couple i think need a refurb.

---obviously wonders of life is never open so theres a lot of room for a new attraction there

maybe swiss family robinson tree house, we usually skip that.

i love disney just the way it is

I must admit DH and I were very bored on Journey into Imagination when we went on our first time in April. The parks were so busy and crowded and we walked right onto this ride, then we found out why.... :(

I agree Danielle! The old figment ride was so great, the current is a pale shadow of its former self. Though I think it has great potential if they would just flesh it out a bit!

Country Bear Jamboree!!! They could use a nice show over in that area to occupy time while waiting for BTMR fast pass time to arrive. :rolleyes1

Honestly, I'm glad WDW has something for (almost) everyone.

In the MK we tend to skip Swiss Family Treehouse and Tom Sawyer Island. And my husband would probably pay Disney if he could personally blow up the Tiki Room.

MGM - No one feels the need to do Sounds Dangerous ever again.

Epcot - I don't think any of us will ever go on Mission: Space. Between the tragedy last week and the fact that my FIL got incredibly ill on it - ain't gonna happen.

That's about it. There are a few rides we don't go on because the kids aren't ready and/or I don't like heights.

:) Michele

Stich's Great Escape,Stich's Great Escape,Stich's Great Escape...PLEASE quit wasting valuable space in Tommorowland with this poor excuse of a washed down version of dim shadow of it's former wonderful self of Alien Encounter!

oh and as far as shows...they are already getting rid of my pick....Tarzan....we got up and left.

Other than that everything else is all good with me. :wave2:

I would get rid of/replace the Tiki Room and the Country Bears. I think both have seen better days.

MK - I do think after all these years Country Bear Jamboree has gotten old, Stitch was a waste of an effort - had hoped for something new and creative, so glad to see 20k leagues go but had hoped for something for us villian fans, we skip some others but they are too important to take out such as COP.

AK - Really fairly new and I'll leave that one alone - okay maybe replace Tarzan if they haven't.

EPCOT - So much in here, am sure stuff we skip should be gone....we miss the old Imagination especially the playground, we find much of the innovations boring....it's a park we consider a quieter day so we just pick and choose what we feel like doing.

MGM - Actually haven't been in several years because we felt like it has been a construction zone and most of the attractions have gotten old. We hated that Hunchback left (it was incredible) and the Beast stayed. I would like to see a new musical. We thought many back stage attractions were a bore, until Millionaire (although we loved the Dalmations one). Indiana Jones needs a revamp - same old same old, maybe a couple movie changes in the Great Movie Ride, I would love to see some actual activity on the city streets, glad they have the stunt show but isn't Indiana a stunt show ? Do you need two ? Star Tours - we've done it enough, Muppet - we love but again we need a new movie, Fantasmic, RoR, ToT, Mermaid - all great and worth repeating over & over.

Rides and attractions that need help:

MK - Tiki Room, Swiss Family Treehouse, Country Bears - the Imagineers went a long way to try to improve the Tiki Room, but my family still thinks riding the monorail is more enjoyable; it would be nice to see the Treehouse go Tarzan like at DL; and the Country Bears.....maybe they'd make good rugs.

Epcot - Journey into Imagination is still a disapointment, Wonders of Life is terrible....maybe they could put Horizons in it's place, Timon and Pumba's show in the Land - I'd rather be poked in the eye with a sharp stick.

MGM - Sounds Dangerous and Doug Live......they deserve a spot in the vehicle graveyard on the old Backlot Tour.

AK - It would be nice to see fewer political overtones in this park. I really enjoy most everything here, but I think that envirnmental responsibility and conservation can be promoted without portraying Capitalism and the American way of life as a bad thing.

With all that said, we love WDW and have to go at least once a year every year. Our DD has grown-up with WDW; we have pictures of here with Mickey in the Judge's Tent at MK every year from age 18mos to 8 1/2 years. Just being at WDW is a source of joy for us because it is soo magical and means nothing but 100% family time for us. Even with the occasional ride or attraction that fails to catch our fancy, WDW is on the top of our vacation destination list.

I totally agree with you about SOUNDS Dangerous it is the lamest ride EVER known to man......

There are many rides that i dont like or would never go on, but that's why Disney is so great...if they had anymore good rides i'd never ever be able to get away.... ::MickeyMo

I think they could bull doze Tom Sawyer's Island and no one would miss it.
Star Tours.. That was outdated when it was new.
Indiana Jones. Saw it once. Waited three years to see it again. And will probably never see it again.

- Star tours is getting old..
- Alien Encounter/Stitch thing has to go...
- The Drew Carey in the dark thing

I really feel that they need to update some things, not so much get rid of.

Swiss Family Treehouse, should become Tarzans' That would make it more enjoyable for all

Jungle Cruise, update it. Yes it is a classic but sometimes you need to give it a little more imagination

Wonders of Life is a waste of space for them in Epcot. They could really come up with something really great.

The Great Movie ride REALLY REALLY needs something new and fantastic

The Backlot tour as well

Sounds Dangerous and that Doug one.

With all these new movies coming out ie Chicken Little and Cars. I am sure they can come up with something new.

I LOVE STAR WARS but, should be updated too!!

 :thewave:

Okay, here is my list of ones to change:

MK---The new version of the tiki room===HATE IT! We can't wait to go back to DL and see what it is suppose to be like. Pirates of the Carribean, okay we love this ride, but again wish it was as good or better than the one at DL. Drop is lame, way too short, and so many of the sight gags are not there.

EPCOT---Would love to see them do something with the wonders of life area. New movie needed for Mexico (and in my opinion, a new restaurant)

MGM---I hope George Lucas gets his way and gets a new Star Tours ride, but we do like the current version. I would love to see some newer and different movies on the Great Movie Ride.

AK---Kali River Rapids..This needs to be turned into a better ride. Rode it twice and never got wet. I would love it if they made it more like the River ride at California Adventures.

Here is what we skip (and yes we have done them atleast once):

MK---Swiss Family (too hot and we are too out of shape for that one)

EPCOT---Canada and China films (hate to stand any more than we need to)

MGM---Backlot tour (once was enough)

AK---The entire park except Dinosaur and Its Tough to be a Bug. We tried this trip to find what so many like about this park, but it just is not there for us.

Is Drew Carey the same as Sounds Dangerous? I was asleep during it so not sure :rolleyes1 if it is...that seriously needs to go and I know I'm gonna get flamed for this one...but. I'm ready for a different Indy show! It is cool, but maybe there is a way to change it up a bit, but would be expensive. I wish they could add more spaceships to the Orbiter too, and last but not least...bring back the ORIGIONAL Tiki Room!

We would. My kids love it, for some reason. And it's kind of nice to go over there midday and get some ice cream from Aunt Polly's. Obviously it's not on the beaten path though, so I concede we are a minority.

Mine would be:

MK - Tiki Room

Epcot - Spaceship Earth (just change the ride inside), Imagination,
Ellen's Energy Adventure (ok, my kids like this too, but it's so darn long, it wreaks havoc with my scheduling!)

MGM and AK don't have any that I hate (haven't done Sounds Dangerous, which from the votes it's getting Sounds Lame, so maybe that would be mine there.)

There are some rides that we avoid altogether when we go to disney- it's just a given, after all, we want to make the most of our tickets.

Magic Kingdom: Hall of Presidents (it's a total snooze unless you want a dark air conditioned room to cool off in)
Tiki Room- who wants to hear Gilbert Godfrey sing?!?
Swiss Family Treehouse- are you kidding, who wants to climb a tree (michael jackson excluded) in the sweltering heat?

Epcot: I can't think of a single thing to complain about here, this park has a lot of 'relaxing' and laid back attractions- a welcome change from the fast pace of the others. Maybe El Rio de Tiempo could use a few updates.

Animal Kingdom: Honestly, there isn't a heck of a lot going on in the AK, we only go for Dinosaur (should have kept the countdown to extinction name). Tried Kali rapids once- got DRENCHED- and was so miserable that we had to stop what we were doing and go all the way back to wilderness lodge for a change of clothes (waste of time) and where was the thrill to it? I don't think we will even visit AK this vacation. Wish that Expedition Everest were opening sooner- maybe it will revive the park.

MGM: I just love MGM, except for the whole sounds dangerous thing. I mean come on, Drew Carey?!? I think Indiana Jones should be replaced too- that movie was cool in...like...the 80's. MGM has a great atmosphere though...and, am I the only one who loves the Sci-Fi dine in?? It's a blast to eat there. :earboy2:

Overall though, for every hum-drum attraction there's ten extraordinary ones. LOVE wdw!

Here goes:

MK- The Tiki Room never gets a sniff from our group- haven't been in years. The Diamond Horseshoe used to be one of favorite attractions but since they changed it we just don't find it appealing anymore.

Epcot- The Living Seas is pretty brutal- and haven't done the film in CHina in quite sometime. Wish Epcot had some more rides in World Showcase.

MGM- Sounds Dangerous as well- so boring and they are right about Indiana Jones. Can't they ever change the whole story and make it another movie in the series at least? Really miss Superstar Television, always got a real kick out of that.

AK- This park is average at best- we like most of the attractions except for the tacky look of the land that has Dinosaur in it. If i wanted to do that i could drive 10 minutes to Sleezeside Heights here on the Jersey Shore- just seems so tacky.
