Which rides and shows do you refuse to do and why?

MK - Won't do Stitch (have no yearning to be forced into smelling that!), or Country Bears Jamboree - which is due to my dd, who is now 6 - but at 4 those talking moose heads scared the life out of her and still to this day says she won't go in there!!!!

MGM - terrified of the thought of ToT... :scared:

Other than that, I think I'll try just about anything

When I was in college (mid 80's), I worked at a local amusement park that had a free-fall ride. I didn't work the ride, but worked in a shop kinda close by (if you took the backstage route) You basically went up in an elevator, moved forward, then dropped. One morning, I heard the worst noise ever - the ride had malfunctioned and instead of moving forward and dropping along the hydraulic line, it fell straight back with no cushion at all. There were 3 kids on a end-of-year school trip in the car - amazingly, no serious injuries.

The logical adult part of me knows that ride technology has improved dramatically in the years that have gone by, but there's still that 19-year old kid inside of me that remembers the eerie silence after the crash, and the stunned faces of their classmates as they learned the news.

I refuse to do the Living Seas...dolphins are social animals and need to be in pods in the ocean, not in a glass tank.

Mission Space makes me queasy for a few minutes, but DD loves it, so I go. However, I will NEVER do the virtual-reality goggle game over at Disney Quest where you're Alladin on a magic carpet. I felt like I was going to be truly sick to my stomach for *hours* after getting off of that one........ Love coasters, but virtual reality did me in. lol

Mission Space is on my list of rides to avoid. My DH and I did it in September and we still get queasy when we think about it. ;) I also don't like rollercoasters. But having said that, I love Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I also avoid Splash Mountain - I can't handle that last big drop!

My DH doesn't like Kali River Rapids because you get so soaked.

Teacups - aka the Mad Hatter's Spin 'n' Barf
Autopia/Tomorrowland Speedway - surely they could come up with something more futuristic and compelling for that space!
Stitch - I loved Alien Encounter, but think Stitch is one of the most irritating, unloveable characters Disney has ever created

We also only go on It's A Small World about once every 10 years or so; that's more than enough ;)

Mission Space I will NEVER ride it again. It took a few hours to get my balance back. DH thought it was rough but wants to do it again. He'll be in the single rider line for that one!

Will not do Universal. I hate it! I'd rather stay at the hotel and look at Disney brochures.

NO TEA CUPS!!!!!!!!

And I really don't like the water rides. Once my hair dries it becomes very VERY big!

And the worst Disney ride I have ever experienced. . . Stitch! OMG!! What happened there? I had an opportunity to talk with imagineers and that was one of the first questions I asked.

I will never go on another WOODEN roller coaster. I went on one at Six Flags over Texas and I've never been more scared in my life! The whole structure sawayed as the cars sped by! :scared:

You couldn't even get me on the Superman ride (Six Flags) or the Maliboomer at DL. I went on one of those types of rides once and came off crying (yeah i know i'm a wimp!) Didn't really like TOT for the same reason, but the theming is way too much fun not to try it again.

On that note, there's a wooden coaster at our Six Flags too (Great Adventure) that my boyfreind always wants to go on...I am terrified of it! It feels like at any given moment it is going to collapse! :scared:

:wizard: :pug:

I love all rides, spinny, dropping, upside down, corny whatever, but when all anyone can talk about is whether they puked or not , I just can't even get excited about the idea of Mission Space.

The one kind of ride i'm not real fond of is the ones where you get totaly soaked and end up walking around extremely uncomfortable.

You get very soaked on Kali River Rapids, thats for sure! Fortunalty I've only been on days when it was in the high 80's or so so I dry off pretty fast!

I was very lucky and didn't get wet at all....god knows how I did it...as everybody else that was on the ride with me, was soaked afterwards.
:cool1:

TOT and Splash mountain are the only two rides I refuse to do because I hate drops.

Stitch I will never do again... ruined our entire night at MK according to a friend I was with (it put him in a horrible mood). Speedway is a waste of space as well but I have been on it.

Mission Space is a great ride... I just got back and I must have been on it 3 or 4 times over the week. Just look straight ahead and breathe deeply.

Tarzan at AK, It would be better with Phil Collins music and not the want a be singers that they have. We walked out with in the first 5 minutes of the show. Also Dinoland at AK, to us it just doesn't go with the rest of the park them.

After seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark show twice at MGM that was enough, They need to change the show in a big way, Maybe the need to change it and cover stunts from the other 2 movies? :scratchin

At each park:

MK -- really can't think of any, I can even tolerate It's a Small World, because at least it's enclosed and air conditioned.

MGM -- Voyage of the Little Mermaid (twisted my knee in there, so bad memories); also Backlot Tour (such a disappointing ride for such a long wait)

Epcot -- Mission Space (haven't tried it, but I don't think I would be able to stand the enclosed space)

AK -- Dinosaur (rode it once, didn't like the jerking around, was very uncomfortable on the ride)

I just remembered one, thanks to another thread that just posted:

THE ENCHANTED TIKI ROOM, UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! :crazy2:

Please, for the love of god, bring bakc the old one.

Why do I refuse it? Have you seen it!!! One year later I am STILL in disbelief over how incredibly bad it was. I still ask myself every now and then: Is it possible that something couold really be that bad? Or was it all just a really bad nightmare???

At MK I will not ride Astro Orbitor, I feel like it will roll right over and out I go. I also do not like Space Mountain. If I have to I can do the Tea Cups with my DD but if DH goes it is way to fast for me. At AK I will not go on Primevil Whirl again. I went for the first and last time last August, way too much herky jerky.

At non Disney parks I don't do roller coasters.

The rest is a go. My goal at Disney is to try everything at least once and so far I have. This year will be EE.

I love everything at WDW except...Indy Speedway - too boring
and those darn Teacups - they make me sick for some reason!!!
