I have a feeling you are talking about the jungle cruise... They make all kinds of corny jokes like that, but it's not actually on the rivers of America.
These days they could do that for the Californians! Actually they could say that about grass too (if there were any!). When we went to Florida last summer the biggest thing that struck me was all the green grass! Even in the WDW parks!
Depending on how long ago it was it could have been the Keel boats also. I loved those, closer to the water than the Columbia but you didn't have to row.
