We are trying to figure out where in MGM we want to eat dinner. With all of our lunches and dinners at Disney, we eat and then keep going! So we don't leave the park and try to experience, say..the resort restaurants. I KNOW, I KNOW, we are missing out........We think we'll do this next time, but with 3 days and 3 planned parks (excluding Epcot this time) we eat, and keep right on going.

DH wants to try the Sci Fi Dine In Theatre (a godzilla buff), I am leaning towards Mama Melroses..and we really have no interest in Hollywood and Vine..but then again, we've never been there. We will also have my parents who dont' care where we eat and my 2 and 4 yr old.

Any one have an opinion?

At MGM we've eaten at 50's Prime Time Cafe, Hollywood and Vine, Hollywood Brown Derby and Mama Melrose. My favorite? Mama Melrose hands down!! It was absolutely wonderful! Hollywood and Vine is a buffet which is good for small children (no wait), Prime Time you have to be in the mood for the jokes, and Hollywood Brown Derby is more upscale and expensive. I vote for Mama Melrose!! Good luck making your decision!

We just ate at HBD. It was a very nice meal and the most expensive of the trip, but it was wonderful. I'd go back in a second. It was nice than some of the restaurants but I didn't feel a bit out of place with DS 4 and DD 1. The tables on each side of us had kids as well.

Oooh yeah, HBD is expensive but they have those awesome key lime martinis!!!! But I do love MM a bunch too! YUM :Pinkbounc

Brown Derby is excellent, and the best we've eaten there, but it's nicer and more expensive - but worth it.

SciFi is a great atmosphere, and lots of fun to exp at least once. The food is by far not as good as Brown Derby or even 50's PT IMO, but if you go for burgers and fries at lunch you're safe. We had a good dinner there but the food wasn't the best, but it wasn't outrageously expensive either.

We also love the food at 50's PT - the portions are huge and it's good homecooking, and a nice change from the other items offered at the parks. The atmosphere again is fun and interactive =)

My vote would be for 50's Prime Time. The food is great and the atmosphere fun for all ages!!

Brown Derby - we all loved the atmosphere and the food was great too. We weren't starving so shared a few appetizers and a cobb salad - can't wait to go back in September!!!

I like the Sci-Fi. I love the atmosphere there. We saw a lot of families there with small children. The kids all seemed to be very occupied with the movie screen.

Mama Melrose is one of our favorite WDW restaurants. We make it a point to eat there every trip.
