Hi there, I am debating getting a Disney visa debit card for my July trip to utilize the discounts. But I am not sure if it is worth it (as the closest chase bank is 40 minutes from my area). I plan on doing character dining and some counter service locations too. I am wondering which restaurants/CS locations give the discount? So if anyone knows of a place (or has) to get a list of locations I would appreciate a copy of the list of locations. Thank you

**I am also curious of the store locations that accept the discount if anyone knows those as well.

I wouldn't make the dining discount your deciding factor unless you plan to eat mostly at resorts. I would consider the 10% off merchandise purchases over $50 & the Disney Rewards points that you earn from everyday spending.

The disclaimer before I go any further....I spend a lot of money on merchandise each trip. So, take what I say with a grain of salt if you keep to a strict budget on vacation. I go a bit crazy.

I have literally saved hundreds & hundreds of dollars over 3 trips since I got my card (2 to WDW & 1 to DL). The discount is good at any Disney owned & operated shop. So, far the only one I've found inside the parks that wouldn't give the discount is a little boutique type clothing shop behind the Flying Carpets in Adventureland at MK. Many of the DD locations don't offer the discount either.

The other way to really get money out of the card is with the Disney rewards dollars you earn back on your purchases. I charge just about everything I ever buy anywhere to my Disney Visa & pay every bill that I can pay by credit card (w/o an extra fee being charged) on it as well. Then each month, I take the cash I would normally make purchases with & pay bills with to make a huge payment on the card. So, far it's worked to earn several hundred dollars to help with my trip each year.

And if your really a big Disney fan & plan to make multiple trips, I would highly recommend you go for the Premium card, not just the regular. One of my big regrets is that I wasted a year with the regular card & missed out on tons of extra Reward dollars that I could have earned with the extra 1% on most of my purchases. The $50 annual fee doesn't even put a dent into what I earn each year. To give some perspective on my rewards for 1 year....last October I redeemed $232 to use on my WDW vacation. By March I had another $240 earned that I used as statement credit to help pay for this year's tickets to WDW. And I conservatively estimate that I'll be up to $320 or so this October to redeem for my trip.

Last but not least, I wouldn't let the fact that there isn't a Chase bank near you matter. Although, there are several in my area, I've never had to go to one. Their website is great & I've always been able to do everything I need using it.

Sorry, I was so long winded, but I really really love my Disney Visa.

And as if I didn't say enough already, I also thought of a couple other things.

Disney Visa cardholders almost always get first access to special rates. So, when new hotel discounts (including Aulani) & dining plan discounts come out, we normally get between a few days & a week to book before the deals open to the general public. We also, get early access to many Disney Store sales & sometimes they have special Disney Store events just for card holders.

You can normally get a small discount on special party tickets, like MNSSHP, except for a few dates close to Halloween. And at DL you can buy the HP tickets for week before they go on sale to anyone else (at least you could in 2012). And DL normal throws in a couple freebies in their vacation packages, such as a free pin & bag/backpack of some sort.

Then there are other misc. offers throughout the year. I've seen discounts on BBB, tickets for the Broadway shows & a bunch of other stuff that escapes me now.
