My DH and I are celebrating our 1st anniversary and are looking for a romantic restaurant for our first night. DH is a meat eater and will order steak. I am a picky eater. Where would you go??

Of these 3, i picked Jiko. But reading your remarks I was wondering if you have considered the Yachtsman Steakhouse?

I would pick Jiko out of the three.

But having said that I must admit that CG is great also. We celebrated my wife's birthday there in Sept. 2003 and had a very romantic evening. We had a table overlooking the castle and lake and it was just a fantastic evening.

I didn't pick any. We ate at CG and dh thought it was good, but he likes 'trendy' food. I'm much more meat and potatoes. I thought it was okay but not great. Never ate at FF since I'm not into seafood and don't want to chance it. But I would vote for Yachtsman Steakhouse in a shot. It's one of the quieter and nicer less trendy of the upper scale spots.

for a picky eater, I'd choose "none of the above," too!

DH and I have eaten at all three -- IMO, Jiko is for the more adventurous eater, Cali Grill tends to be a little loud for romance and the Flying Fish (although they have great steak) may not appeal to a picky eater, either.

I like the Yachtsman Steakhouse suggestion, so I'll second it! Great steaks, traditional fare, a bit more quiet atmosphere.

I am also a picky eater and I also like meat and potatoes. I agree with the above, I wouldn't pick any of the 3. I would go with the other suggestions of Yachtsman Steak House.

I also didn't vote ~ I'm also a picky eater and dh is a meat eater who won't touch seafood, whereas I love shrimp & scallops, lobster that kind of stuff.

I've been to California grill and although so many people rave about it, other than the nice atmosphere, being a picky eater, the menu was a bit limited for me.

Haven't tried Flying Fish or Jiko so I cannot comment.

Great suggesstions I can make however are as other's have already mentioned, Yachtsman steakhouse or even better IMO Citrico's! That is both my and my dh's favorite of all resturaunts at WDW. The food is soooo good ~ try the veal shank! YUMM. And the service is excellent with romantic ambiance.

Also Narcoosee's overlooks the seven seas lagoon too at GF

I voted for the California Grill. This is a great place to dine!!!

If a great steak is important or lots of choices of great steaks you may want to consider Shula's.

Also I have noticed that there are fewer children there than at the other restaurants.

BUT I love Flying Fish, especially their TUNA

Thanks for all the imput! My DH suggested Yachtsman Steakhouse but I had my doubts. After hearing such great reviews, I think it will be the right choice for us.

I voted Jiko but I also think that Yachtmans Steakhouse would be the better fit for a picky eater and steaklover. Can't go wrong there.

Definetly, The Flying Fish! The steak is great, the seafood is outstanding, and the Pork Chop is also an option.Plus the Boardwalk ay night is always nice.

You also might try Victoria and Alberts.(a little expensive and reservations will be needed)
