Which Restaurant to Skip on Rotation?

Quick question on which restaurant on the Wonder you would skip for Palo and which you would want to do twice on the rotation? We're at Palo on the first night because we're newbies and don't know anything about the dining twice in the same restaurant in the dining rotation. I love good food so much, my friends call me a foodie. I just read the thread on the bad food.....am now worried. :confused3

Any insight would be really helpful, so I can either be prepared or try to get my rotation changed when we find out what it is :goodvibes Thank you.

If you are on a 4 night then you won't miss any restaurants but if it is a 3 night you won't do any twice.

You can request a specific rotation but it is not guarenteed - if you are dining at Palo on the first night I would think any rotation that doesn't start with Animators palette will be fine. They only do the light show on the first visit there so if you were doing that first you would miss it.

Your other option is to change your Palo reservation or "double dip" and eat lightly in your main restaurant (maybe just an appetiser and dessert and then do Palo later (or vice versa is you have late dining.) If you miss the first night in the restaurants you won't meet your servers and table mates early on.

Actually if you go to Palo the first night you will not dine the that dining room again. The rotation is 1223 so you only repeat the 2nd dining room. The first night is the rotational menu and the second night is the pirate night menu.

I would skip AP. If it were my choice I would eat twice at Tritons.

Apologies, brain fog had taken over i think!

Maybe the OP could change their Palo to either 2nd or 3rd night to sample all the restaurants?? Or do the double dip.

I would skip Parrot Cay. I probably enjoyed this restaurant/menu offerings the least. Don't skip Tritons...it was the best of the three!

What you're "missing" or "repeating" is sitting in the restaurant. You will have a different menu each night of your cruise. On a 4 day Wonder cruise, you will sit in the same restaurant on nights 2 and 3, but you will have a different menu each night. Of course, if sitting in Triton's or Parrot Cay is your issue, you can do that for breakfast or lunch. You wouldn't have another opportunity to sit in Animator's unless that happens to be your muster station.

There is no way to go to Palo without missing one of the menus in the dining rooms.

You can request a particular rotation, but there is no guarantee you will get your request. SO, pick your Palo night and realize that you'll have to do another cruise in order to "do everything." But by then things will have changed and you'll be booking number 3.

I would miss Lumiere's or the equivalent. Parrot Cay is actually our favorite

Don't miss Animator's Palate the first night. The light show is great and the "parade" the wait staff does at the end is fun. The second time in AP is boring as they don't turn the lights on. That menu, however, is our least favorite.

We like Parrot Cay and Triton's (or Lumiere's on Magic). However, none of the restaurants can equal the dining experience in Palos. And if they give anything out in the dining room on the night you miss it, your waitstaff should be able to get you whatever it was.

If you miss Parrot Cay or Triton's, you can go there for breakfast (Triton's) or lunch (Parrot Cay) to get the feel of the dining rooms.

BTW -- anyone who has cruised in the past year -- have they "redecorated" Parrot Cay? PC was always my favorite decor until we cruised in the Med in 2007 and found upon entering that they had removed all the window ornaments, curtains and wall fixtures. The only thing left were the parrots hanging in the middle. It was very bland in there. I was wondering if they ever spruced it back up again :confused3

It looked the same as always when we sailed in March. Maybe they were just cleaning stuff????

As far as food goes, if you have to skip one, I'd skip Animator's Palate. I was not that impressed. We were at AP the first night of our cruise, and were not impressed with the light show or the food (not that the food was bad, it just wasn't as good as the others). It sounds like from previous posters saying how awesome the light show is that it may have been not working correctly when we went, but as I stated earlier, we weren't impressed with the show at all.

Thank you everyone! I got my cruise docs in the mail yesterday! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

21 more days to go!

We loved going to Lumiere's on formal night - it was perfect for the way we were dressed since it was a more formal dining room. But we really liked Parrot Cay a lot - it was fun and casual. We had this restaurant for Pirate Night so again that seemed like the perfect place! Animator's Palette was our least favorite...so for us, it would be Animator's Palette that we would skip!

The leaves were not up around the portholes in PC on the EB PC Repo in August 2008. They were not up on our 12/06 cruise either. When we asked about them the servers told us that they were removed during the last drydock.

I finally found a good picture of how the portholes in PC used to look on DU's site.

Here are our pictures from the CB on the 12/06 cruise with the plain portholes.

I agree about Animator's Palette, it was our least favorite on our 4 night Wonder cruise in Jan 2008. It was our first night's rotation & with our 2 grandkids it was not the best choice. We loved Parrot Cay.
