Which restaurant at WDW for a first date?

I'm going on a first date on Thursday and we're going back and forth on where we should go for dinner. We both think Whispering Canyon Cafe would be fun, we are both 'fun' people and in love with all things Disney. I'm hesitant about WCC because I refuse to eat with my hands on a first date. Any other suggestions?

California Grill is my fav restaurant on property (Comtemporary Resort). Love the view and you can watch the fireworks if you time it right.

Thank you for the suggestion! I've heard great things about California Grill but ouch at the prices! A little bit too expensive.

Narcoosee's, then walk around the GF property after. Or eat at the Poly and head down to the beach.

The Turf Club is really nice and then after you could take the boat to Downtown Disney. Maya Grill is a nice place too.

If you want romantic, California Grill would be best but it is expensive. Narcoosees is also along those lines. Ohanas is fun. Whispering CC is fun, but the food always makes me feel sick. If you are both Castmembers and have ids to get into the parks, SCi Fi is fun and cheesy, burgers fries and shakes. Or 50s Prime Time.

I like the Sci Fi. Plus, if you run out of things to say, you can always watch the big screen.

I would go to Beaches and Cream. Casual and fun, you could even walk over and play putput golf afterwards. I never liked trying to be romantic on a first date.

WCC is definitely a fun place, but maybe a little noisy for a first date???

The Turf Club at Saratoga Springs would be my first choice. We love it there - great food, terrific service, and it's never crazy-crowded.

Beaches & Cream is a fun place also, along with the 50's Prime Time Cafe.

I agree about WCC being a little too noisy. I think on a first date you'd like to be able to have a conversation, and get to know each other. I also agree that Beaches and Cream or 50's Prime Time would be great choices. They're both informal, not too expensive (by Disney standards anyway lol), and have good food. 50's PTC of course would be more "fun" but the atmosphere at B&C is great too. We love Sci Fi but it would definitely be more intimate than the other two. For one, it's dark in there. Also, you would be sitting side-by-side sharing the same seat, rather than having the option of sitting across the table from each other. My family loves Sci-Fi, but would you -- and would your date -- be comfortable sitting right next to each other?

Coral Reef would be nice, especially if you could get next to the aquarium, but it's also more expensive.

How about Boatwrights at POR? Then you could go see Piano Bob's show afterward. His show is always one of the highlights of our trip!

This is exactly what I was going to suggest! If things fizzle out, it would be easy to just end the date after dinner!

In my opinion, the best meal we ever ate in Disney World was Ohana. Then you could take a stroll along the beach and watch Wishes while sitting in the sand. Just a suggestion.

The walk on the beach would definetly be romantic!

:scratchin Hmmmm, someone else posted this same question on the Welcome Board this morning. Does your date know you are a DISer?

California Grill is currently closed for renovations. Won't be open again until September-ish.

Maybe something at Boardwalk? There is lots to do there for a date - fun things and quiet spots.

If the company is good tho, it won't matter where you eat. ;)
