We don't like having to send on the bed when we come back to the room to relax. Which resort (moderate) would have a couch in the room?

None, in a standard room in a moderate.

Some of the rooms in the Grand Floridian have daybeds.

A lot of the DVC studios have sofas - I remember them in Bay Lake Tower and Boulder Ridge.

Fort Wilderness cabins have sofas. Some of the standard rooms in the deluxe resorts have daybeds or sofas - Contemporary, Boardwalk, Poly, GF.

Art of Animation Family Suite has a small couch. But none of the moderate resorts have one.

Not mod but Pop Century has 2 chairs and a table when Murphy bed is up.

Coronado Speings Casitas has a one person lounge chair and a desk chair that pairs with the wide desk/surface along the wall where the TV is.

the true hangout couches with the coffee table are deluxe level as far as I know (but some - like in riviera studio) disappears when you use Murphy bed fyi

I booked a king room for my upcoming stay at Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs (a moderate resort) and the pictures I have seen, both on Disney’s website and elsewhere, show a couch in the room. I stayed in the tower last year and the rooms with two queen beds do not have couches.

This! The CSR Gran Destino Tower king rooms have a couch in the room.

This is my complaint about most rooms at WDW. I recently stayed at the Hilton for this reason. I’ve not seen any extra seating at the values and moderates so I won’t normally stay there. Deluxe is about twice the price I paid for a reasonably large room that also had a balcony

All the Mods I've stayed in at least have a table and chairs.
It's not a couch but it is extra seating

Fort Wilderness Cabins

Coronado Springs - Suites and King Tower Rooms

Doh!

How did I miss the Fort Wilderness Cabins? I've stayed there twice and love the cabins....

If you have any interest in staying "off-site", the king rooms at Swan and Dolphin also have couches.

Honestly, I booked a Beach Club studio specifically to have a couch to sit on instead of the bed, and that was the most awful couch ever! It was all out of whack somehow, and gave me hip pain.

Yes, many of the old style pullout bed couches were uncomfortable to sit on (even when relatively new) in the dvc studios and villas. Recently I found the new style couch (with pull down bed) much more comfortable for sitting at Poly and SSR.
Check out the non Disney hotels in Disney Springs and Bonnet Creek area for king with couch rooms, lots of choices.

just last week we stayed at Saratoga Springs. We stayed in a newly refurbished perfered studio it had a queen bed and a sofa that was also a murphy bed in the wall.

I realize that. However I would not consider those to be comfortable seating for very long
