Hi Everyone,

I'm doing some research for a friend at work who is taking her family to WDW for the first time. DH and I don't have any kiddos yet, so I'm not sure about the resorts that will work for a family of five.

It will be 2 adults and 3 children (one 13 year old & two 9 year olds). I believe that would work at the Poly, but I was wondering if any of the moderate resorts would allow it? Also, what is the deal with the All Star suites I've heard about?

Any info & advice would be appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!! :goodvibes

Port Orleans Riverside Alligator Bayou with a trundle bed.
Poly, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Beach and Yacht Club, Boardwalk, in standard rooms; Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge in Deluxe rooms; Fort Wilderness Cabins; Vacation Club Resorts in a 2 bedroom; and yes, All-Star Music resort in a Family Suite.

You could also do 2 rooms at a value too. We are thinking about doing that at POP next time we go. Its still cheaper then the deluxe rooms, plus you get 2 bathrooms!

The most affordable options are 2 rooms at a value, The All Star Family Suites or a FW cabin.

2 rooms vs. Family Suites:

For comparison, the price of a Family Suite is $9-11 more then 2 Standard Rooms, or $13-15 less the 2 Preferred Rooms, depending on season.

Also a fridge is included in AS Suite.

Fridges cost $10 a night to rent when staying at a value . Don't forget the Queen size bed,a coffee pot and microwave are also in Family Suites.

Family Suites vs. Fw cabins:

Both sleep 6.
FW cabin has double beds and a bunk bed, full kitchen, 1 TV and 1 bathroom.
Family Suites has a Queen size bed in a master bedroom area, a fold out sofa, fold out chair and fold out ottoman. The Suite also has a kitchenette. 2 TVs and 2 bathrooms. The Suites also have a privacy curtain(like the mod's have) by each of the sinks.

The FW cabins start at $249 during value season.
The Family Suites start at $179 during value season.
Here is the web site with the resort rates for 2007:

The cabins will also charge$10 extra a night for the 3rd adult.
1-6 adults can stay at the Family Suites for the same set price.

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) last Sept. (2006)

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.
