which resort?

I am trying to decide on a resort. I've been looking at the beach club villas. Is it different staying at a dvc property? I like the idea of more room but I don't need the kitchen or washer dryer. Will I feel like I'm staying in a deluxe resort. Thanks for any information or suggestions.

Yes, the villas are DVC properties. You get more room, kitchen. You only receive maid service on day 4 of a stay longer than 4 days.

This is only true if you're staying on points. If booked for $$ via Disney, there is daily housekeeping.

Note that a DVC studio has a kitchenette, not a full kitchen, and does not have a washer-dryer. They are not necessarily larger than a standard room, though.

BCV studios (356 sq ft) are a little smaller than BC standard rooms (381 sq ft). Along with the amenities Auroraborealis noted, they have a queen bed, full size sofa bed, and a new murphy type bed that will fit one of small stature comfortably (like 5 feet or so).

As a DVC member I would say staying at BCV has a different feel IMO, since you are located outside of the hotel in a separate building. If you are staying in a studio, personally I see no advantage, and depending on what you are doing it could be a disadvantage (I'm sure others will disagree). Studio will have 1 bed and a sleeper sofa instead of 2 beds (the murphy bed as well as noted in the post above as well). So depending on who is in your party that can be good or bad. The studio isn't a kitchenette unless you consider a microwave and fridge a kitchenette. Its not like you can prepare meals. In a 1 or 2 bedroom you have a full kitchen. Furnishings will be different as well. If you are at BWV, since it is part of the main building it has more of a deluxe resort feel to me, but that just my opinion.

If you don't need a kitchen or washer/dryer you would most likely get more room in a resort room over a studio in a DVC room. I've stayed in a couple of BW studios and a 1 bedroom at AKV and was really pretty disappointed in the studio. This was before BW had done renovations but I felt the room was smaller than a YC resort room and a little run down. You will still be in the resort though other than the BC villas being in a separate building it's almost just like being in another wing of the YC/BC resort.

Yes I understand Disney considers a microwave and a 1/2 fridge (without a freezer in most if not all resorts). Since people can have a different interpretation of what a kitchenette is, I wanted to make sure that the poster and others understood what is in it. While yes you can prepare a meal as you note, if that means using a microwave only. For some readers they may think there is a small burner etc. which obviously there is not. If a guest wants to cook pasta, or use a toaster oven they are out of luck. I'm not disparaging the room just that the kitchenette is a slight improvement from a Comfort Inn room that has a microwave and fridge. To be clear I am a fan of the studios, and not comparing the room itself to a Comfort Inn.
