Finally back on the boards after being off for a few years. Going back to DW in September. We have the option of Shades of Green but we've always stayed at the BC. We could sure save a lot of money at SoG but when I look at BC pictures, I really want to stay there. We have never stayed at SoG. Could I please get some feedback from someone who may have stayed at both. :confused3

SOG is OK - IMHO if you've stayed onsite you will not enjoy SOG. Their level of service is just not Disney standards. Don't get me wrong - it's clean and alot less money - it just doesn't have the Disney magic. There's a Mickey statue by the Tours & Tix desk, that was it. It's nothing like the Hale Koa in Hawaii where it definitely feels like Hawaii. If it's between SOG and not going - go SOG - but if I were you - I'd save up til we could stay onsite.

Thanks for your help. After talking it over with the family and looking at the military discount, we will be staying at the BC. It's been several years since we stayed there and I can't wait to go back. We're going in September before our daughter and son-in-law get transferred again. (They are both Captains.) Hopefully military orders don't mess up our plans.

We've stayed at several Disney resorts as well as SOG. For me, if it's a choice of a Disney deluxe resort or SOG, the Disney deluxe resort wins hands down. If one's choice is a Disney moderate vs. SOG, it would be a toss-up. Choosing between a Disney value resort and SOG; it would definitely be SOG.
JMHO.
