Which resort?

My husband and I are thinking about going down for a weekend in December without the kids. Our choices are a standard room at Coronado Springs or a studio at Saratoga Springs. My main concern is the bus transportation since we won't have a car. We will probably be eating all our meals in the parks, so I'm not too worried about restaurants. Which one will be better decorated for the holidays?

We have not been during the holidays but we love Saratoga Springs and I can imagine it would feel a lot more christmassy at Christmas than Coronado Springs. It is quite traditional, and I believe the rooms are being refurbished at the moment.
It is also walking distance to downtown Disney which is very festive during christmastime. It's very handy and the walk is very pretty.
We found bus service efficient and prompt. I would not worry about going without a car.
Have a great trip whichever you choose :)

CSR is one of the best hidden gems out there. Personally, i think best bang for buck.

Bus service here is the best. Hands down. Bus service at SSR is so so . Lots of stops on the property alone.. But it does have the boat to dTD.

I have never stayed at Saratoga springs but have stayed many times at CSR and love it! I agree it is a hidden gem!

I have stayed in SSR twice and have never stayed in CSR, so I can give you some info:

I'm not sure what SSR does for christmas, but I would think they do something. SSR has great bus service, (3/4 bus stops????) The QS place to eat, The Artist's Pallette is very good for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks! The paddock pool and the main springs pool are both great with slides.

Whichever you choose have a great time! ;)

I've stayed at both CS and SSR. I would go with CS if you want a regular hotel room. If you want a kitchenette and a couch, stay at SSR. Both have great bus service. Both have a QS and TS restaurant. I've been to WDW during the Xmas holiday and they usually add extra buses when it is peak season. I wouldn't worry about transportation.

As far as the decorations go, I think they are usually in the lobby area of the resort. I stayed at OKW between Xmas and New Year's and don't remember seeing any decorations in the building I was staying in. I did a lot of resort hopping to see the decorations and they were mainly in the lobby area of the main building at each resort. However, the tree for the Contemporary is outside near the front of the resort.

I vote for SSR, I stayed there last xmas on my DVC points. I really enjoyed it. Some of the rooms are within walking distance to DTD which might be a nice perk for you and hubby.

If you are at all interested in walking to Downtown Disney - SSR is a nice option - request Congress Park. Otherwise I'd say either one is a good choice and I would go with the theme I liked most. SSR is a relaxing resort with boat transportation as well as walking distance to DTD - also fairly convenient boat transportation to OKW, POR and POFQ connecting through DTD. CSR would be more off on your own - but a lovely resort none the less. I think the room quality would be the same with either but if you would enjoy a balcony - go with SSR. I had a studio walking distance to DTD and could hear the music at night from my balcony - not too loud - but enjoyable all the same. I enjoyed watching the birds in the trees while having my morning coffee on the balcony - so if that at all appeals to you - go with SSR. Also with SSR because it was a studio it had a toaster, and microwave which was nice for making breakfast in the room.
