Which resort would you say has the best/most convenient bus service?

This is pretty much the most important thing (other than price) to my wife and I since we mostly rely on buses to get to the parks.

IMO none of the resorts have great bus service to all the parks - seems the closer the resort is to the park, the better the service will be.

The monorail resorts are great for Epcot/MK but I've found they are also on the slower side to HS/AK with Contemporary taking the cake since you can walk to MK, and Poly taking the cake because you can walk to the TTC.

We had great bus service at Coronado Springs. The bus stop we were at was never crowded and we never waiting more than 5 minutes for a bus. However, we were at the first stop so had to make the rounds of all the other stops when leaving, but returning we were the first stop which was nice.

The worst would be Fort Wilderness. The bus stop was crowded and the waits were long. Also we noticed REALLY long waits for a bus when leaving the parks.

The Beach Club is our favorite resort and the bus service has always been fine both ways. However we walk to Epcot and HS when we're there.

How long would you say it took to get to parks like MK and Epcot from your bus stop at Coronado Springs? My wife and I are looking to upgrade to book a moderate when some discounts come out and obviously Coronado will be one of our choices. I hear things about the larger resorts with multiple bus stops taking a while to actually get to the parks. Everything I read about Caribbean Beach with its large number of bus stops makes me not want to stay there. Then I read about Port Orleans French Quarter with it's smaller size, mostly dedicated buses and single bus stop and that sounds great.

Part of it will depend on which stop you're using. We were at the first stop so it took an additional maybe 8-10 minutes to go all the way around to the other stops before leaving the resort. After that though, I would say maybe less than 20 min to Epcot/HS and another 5 or so to MK. AK was more like 15 if I remember correctly.

We loved CS, it's a beautiful resort. The only other mod I've stayed at is CBR and we really didn't like it. CS is much more relaxing! So I can't speak to POFQ or POR, but the theming at CS appeals to me a lot more so it would be our first choice for a Mod.

Coronado Springs
Why?

- Bus stops are all close to the rooms
- Only 4 stops
- Due to convention folks not using, buses seem less crowded
- Have never had to stand on a CSR bus
- Resort most centrally located on property, so no ride is long
- No issues returning to resort waiting in long lines like values
- AK literally around the corner, once on bus 10 minutes
- DHS and Epcot across highway, once on bus 10-13 minutes
- MK, ramp to highway right by resort, once on bus 15+ minutes
- Can vary slightly if you are at first bus stop, we like to stay at 2nd bus stop

Also, when we stayed at CS and were going to hit rope drop, we would walk to the food court to fill our mugs with coffee and then get on the bus stop there, which is the last stop before leaving the resort. That worked out well though that stop was a little more crowded.

This is great to know too since we usually go to the food court at whatever resort we are staying at in the morning to fill our mugs. Even when that last stop was a little more crowded, it was never too crowded that there wasn't any more room on the bus? So far it seems like CS is a good choice for what we are looking for.

The Bus at Pop Century has always been so kind to us as well as Art of Animation. 1 bus stop, no sharing buses. We've never had a problem. The worst we've ever experienced was at Wilderness Lodge. It took us over an hour one day to get to Disney Springs. I mean, you would think in a deluxe resort you wouldn't have to share buses, but we would frequently go pick up the "monorail loop" people, which in turn meant that they got on a crowded bus since we were picked up first. It really turned us off to those resorts.

No there was always room on the bus and like a PP mentioned I've never had to stand on a CS bus.

We were in Casitas 4 (preferred room) and we found it to be a great central location. Closer to the food court than the main pool but not bad.

We really enjoyed the bar out by the lake. The drinks were excellent and it was just a lovely place to sit and relax and enjoy the view.

Our current reservation is for Art of Animation. We picked that since it's one stop and no sharing buses. When discounts come out we are hoping to upgrade to a moderate. I definitely share your opinion about a deluxe resort. We stayed at the Yacht Club and while we never had to really wait long for a bus the actual traveling wasn't too great. The bus pretty much stopped at all the epcot area resorts and was always so crowded that we needed to stand often.

Now the YC only shares a bus with BC

Just want to add about going to the last bus stop at CS, you might or you might not have to stand on the bus according to what time of day it is. I stayed there last Sept. and was staying in the Cabanas section, which I think is the second to last stop. I was at the bus stop around park opening time for MK, not rope drop just park opening. The bus was already full by the time it got to our stop but there was only a couple with 2 kids and me waiting so the bus driver crowded us on, I literally had my toes on the "you better not cross this line" line and was holding one of the kids for the family because mom was holding one and dad was holding two strollers. We had to stop at the last stop because there was someone way at the back of the bus who was using it to ride to the main building instead of walking but no one was allowed to get on the bus. I did have to wait for a second bus that night when leaving MK as well because it was so crowded. I will say that can and does happen at every single resort that has a bus stop, it just depends on the time of day and how the stars and planets are aligned. I've been the only one on the bus at every single resort and have been in a line at a park and been the only one there and had a bus called just for me. CS is pretty centrally located but you are going to hear all sorts of horror stories about buses at x resort and how they are great at x resort. The bus service is the bus service and it's going to be good and bad at every resort. You are guaranteed you can walk to MK from CR, you are guaranteed you can walk to Epcot and HS at BW, YC and BC, otherwise you are going to roll your dice and take your chances. I like Disney transportation and use it exclusively, even though I always have a car with me.

Going to the parks......I'd say Pop. We've stayed several times and I don't think I've ever waited more then five minutes for a bus.

We love staying at the Epcot resorts since we can walk to two of the four parks! That leaves a minimum time spend waiting or riding buses!

Us too. Walking to Epcot is so nice. We love staying there but we enjoy staying for at least a week and can't always afford to stay there.
