Back story: We are taking my kids to the Disney Bubble for MLK Day weekend (Saturday-Monday) in 2019. I have already reserved our home resort (SSR) for a studio. I *REALLY* want to take my mom with us for this trip - making it a reservation for 5. I have enough points for a studio at BWV, BCV, BRV for this trip (all are 31 points and sleep 5). As of right now, the RAT has each of these resorts available for studios. (Yes, I know these might not be available by the time my 7th months rolls around.) We don't have enough points available to convert this trip to a 1 BR - we would prefer to have that room type for longer trips.

So... I will be getting online at the 7th month mark. When I do, which of the 3 resorts would you make the priority when you log on at 8 AM? Any advice is appreciated!

Do you want to stay close to MK or close to Epcot/DHS?
That would be the deciding factor for me between BRV and the other two.

We own at BWV and love it there but the pool at BCV is pretty spectacular. How much use you will get out of it in Feb is hard to say. Could be 80s then or 50s (I went several years ago around president’s day and it got to 70 only one day-the rest of the time it was in the 50s). Since BWV pool/Garden view is a large category I’d think availability there is probably the greatest of the 3.

I am not picky about location for this trip - just the occupancy. :) We haven't yet stayed at any of the three yet, so we would be exicted to try any. I know the BCV's pool is awesome and thought that the weather could be an issue for that one. Thanks for the feedback on number of studios for BWV - the pool/garden view is the one that is still available.

I voted BCV as it's my favorite. And I don't swim, so SAB is definitely not a lure. Three things are my major reasons-the French Bakery, B&C, and Cape May character breakfast. I love to eat breakfast at the French Bakery-it's open at 9:00 and not many people know about it that early. Peaceful, quiet and occasionally I've taken a lunch sandwich to go and spent the later morning back at BC. B&C-you can get there from BCV in the rain-without getting wet! And Cape May CB is my favorite CB. I just thought of another-sitting, listening to the background music is wonderful.

Awesome advice! Thpse would all appeal to us, especially my mom. ;)

Based on your options, I voted for BWV. With Toy Story Land being open for your trip, the easier access to DHS might be a nice option for you. You don't mention the age of your children, and that could make a difference.

But as mentioned by others, if swimming will be an important part of your vacation, then BCV should probably take priority.

VWL is a great resort but not as easily accessible to parks as BCV or BWV. I'm assuming that with 5 in a studio, you don't plan on spending a lot of leisure time there so access to the parks will be important.

Just out of curiosity, where is Mom going to sleep? On the drop down bed? Or with one of the kids?

Voted BCV...love to swim, own at BCV, but if I can use other points to stay there, I consider it a bonus.

The others are fine choices too! I would be happy with any of them.

I don't think leisure time in the room will be a priority, hence the studio. My mom is used to sleeping with one of the kids when we travel. My youngest (will be 7 at that time) would probably be the Murphy bed sleeper. Thanks for the feedback.

Size-wise, they are all pretty equal. And they are all very nice resorts. If the pool and location are not deciding factors for you, then I would go with whatever is still available. However, my heart belongs to BWV in spite of the scary clown pool and redrum hallways

Thanks for the feeedback. I would love to do Stormalong Bay with the kids. Just not sure if the unpredictable weather will be a factor in January. :)

That’s so true.
Really, I do not think you can go wrong. I hope you get one of them!

I was definitely going to say the same thing - Any of those options would be fantastic!

We own at BCV and love walking to both nearby parks. We just stayed at CCV (obviously it would be BRV since you need to sleep 5), and we absolutely loved the resort. So many fun things to do with the kids and the proximity to MK was great as well. We watched the fireworks from our balcony and went down to the dock to see the electrical water pageant. The bus ride to AK was not my favorite however.

I will say my last choice would likely be BWV. We grabbed one night in a standard view studio for the night before the half marathon two weeks ago. There’s a ton of fun things for the kids and of course the boardwalk/walk to parks is super. After staying at CCV for four nights though, the BWV studio felt very run down. We had issues with the toilet, faucet, and the old-school thermostat drove us bonkers. I was thrilled to see the high Illuminations fireworks from our balcony as I’m obsessed with fireworks. Again, you really can’t go wrong - good luck at 7 months!:thumbsup2

To aid in deciding here is what may exist at 8 a.m., 7 months out, based on historical bookings for that weekend:

BCV: likely to be filled for at least a day or two of the days you want before 7 months out, but if you find it open just before 8 a.m., you must be prepared to try for it at exactly 8 a.m. or risk not getting it.

BWV and BRV: BWV boardwalk and standard view are likely to be gone before 7 months out. However, BWV pool/garcden view and BRV are both likely to be open for at least an hour beyond 8 a.m. on the day that is 7 months out.

Thank you for the feedback! Fireworks - regardless of the park - from the balconey would be amazing.

Awesome data! Thank you! Right now, standard view and boardwalk view are already gone, so I am glad to hear the pool/garden view usually stays open. I figured that my switch relied on fast clicking at 8 AM... Have you ever made the switch from your phone? How does the DVC website hold up to mobile platforms?
