Which resort with kids no parks?

I would actually stay at an US resort Cabana Bay, Great price and they have a lazy river, bowling etc. We also found their FC to be better than Disney's. And is you are going to any US parks then their premier hotels have the great perk of Express Passes. Something to think about. Whenever we do a trip and are going to both parks, we usually will stay at US and drive to WDW.

And if weather obliges and the fam is getting bored you can do Volcano Bay with basically no effort!

Could you use your Disney rewards points for a half-day visit to DS (Splitsville bowling, movie theater, tethered balloon ride, boats, shopping, restaurants, etc.) or a resort character meal splurge? The resorts at UO are really nice, themed, and within walking/boating distance of the parks and Citywalk. If you decide to visit the UO parks, don't be surprised of one of your older two kids actually prefer them vs. the Disney parks!

for me, a resort only trip always means AKL. it's enough all in its own, IMO.

Thanks for all the suggestions! The credit card is actually the Disney VISA so must be used at Disney but you all have given me some other ideas on how to use it if we decide we need a Disney fix. And you have been great in suggestions for Universal. We have been waiting until littlest DD was big enough for all rides but I'm getting anxious to take the plunge!
