Which resort to try at 7 months?

Where should I switch my reservation to at 7 months?

  • Switch or waitlist for a 1 BR at BCV

  • Switch or waitlist for a 1 BR at BWV

  • Switch or waitlist for a 1 BR split stay BCV/BWV

  • Stay at AKV and just wait for the 1 BR waitlist to come through

  • What! Are you crazy trying to switch resorts at 7 months for the beginning of December?

  • Other

Hi! I am currently booked for all but 2 nights of my 11 night December trip (12/3-12/14) in an AKV savanna view studio. I have decided to upgrade to a 1 bedroom and I am currently on the waitlist for a 1 BR savanna view for all of the days.

As much as I love AKL/AKV, there are still 2 DVC resorts that I haven't stayed at: BCV and BWV. OK, I haven't stayed at VWL either but I have stayed at WL (I loved it). So I have 2 other trips this year that will definitely be at AKV. I was originally thinking about trying to switch my reservation at 7 months over to BCV and/or BWV so that I could try them out.

So I am looking for your suggestions.

I'm someone who enjoys our December BWV stays almost as much as I do our December VWL stays. I think the decorations are gorgeous, and I've seen Santa in the lobby there and maybe it's just timing, but I haven't seen him at VWL. We like to listen to the local groups who do carols or holiday music presentations on the Village Green. We alternate our December trips at VWL and BWV, and this year it's BWV for us!

Hmm, so no BCV fans on line tonight? :)

Hey! Not only do we own at VWL, and BWV, we own at BCV and as such, I'm putting myself in the BCV "fan" category. We always walk over and visit the BC and YC lobby, (S&D's too) during the Christmas season. I just think the BWV is nicer and SAB doesn't really come into play for me during the holidays. We are doing BCV this November with the family. Are you leaning toward BCV as a personal choice?

I am guessing they may also be pretty booked up like AKV is. We will be moving to SSR or OKW if the 7 month window does not get us our waitlist for AKV.

BTW looks like we will be at AKV around the same time in May!!

If nothing opens up at 7 months, I will probably move the first day 12/3 of my trip over to which ever resort has an opening. For the rest of the trip, if there aren't any one bedrooms available at whichever epcot resort that I choose, then I will probably leave my reservations at AKV. Of course, my 12/7 night is also a bit of a hassle. If nothing opens up at AKV/BCV/BWV, do I keep my cash reservation, do I move to OKW or SSR, or do I wait for AP rates and book something.

I'm a big BCV fan, in December even. Although it may be too cold to swim some days, it's (almost) always nice enough to sit around the pool and read a book. Here's some BCV December pictures to entice you:

And don't forget the carousel in the BC Lobby. It smells as yummy as it looks:

I don't remember ... do you have kids?

Nope, but I have been known to rent/borrow my niece and nephew at times. :rotfl2: My December trip will be my solo trip this year. My other trips in '08 are with my best friend (May) and my niece and nephew with their mom in November.

Simba's Mom- Thanks for the photos. This will be our first Christmas at BCV. Thanks again...by the way....we are never sick of photos!

I think that AKV is probably one of the best resorts for a solo trip. There is so much to look at and see from your balcony. I would also like an Epcot resort for the ease of getting to/from MGM and Epcot. So ... I would suggest a split stay between AKV and BWV. The BCV are too set back and quiet while BWV is in the middle of things.

simba's mom awesome christmas pictures
hope to stay some christmas looks beautiful

Aww, thanks. Sometimes I feel like I'm always showing off pictures, and people probably get sick of it-"Oh, there she goes with more pictures."

I love seeing all the pictures in people's posts! Of course, my main hobby besides/along with traveling is photography.
