Not intending to be dense or argumentative, but I don't understand why one would need a car to visit resorts though. The bus/boats/monorail have got us to many resorts that was not the one we were staying at for dining.
my never will go back ones:
captains grille at Yacht
1900 Park Fare at GF
Big River Grill at Boardwalk
I'm curious why you didn't like these three, I've never been to them but they are on my to-do list because I'd read such positive reviews.
Places to which I would return:
California Grill-Contemporary
The Yachtsman Steakhouse-Yacht Club
Cape May character breakfast-Beach Club
Boma (dinner, haven't tried breakfast)-AKL
Big River Grill-Boardwalk
I wouldn't go back to Captain's Grill at YC, either. After one great meal there in 2005, we've had two less than stellar experiences since. One involved produce stickers still on the apple slices in our sandwiches, and the other involved raw meat on a salad. There are enough other options, especially with Epcot within walking distance, that it's pretty easy to cross this one off the list.
Using a car is much faster and, to many, easier. Let's say you're at the Port Orleans and you want to eat at GFC. You'd need to take a bus to MK and then the monorail to GF. If you want to go any resort from a resort, you'll need to transfer at some point. So the rule of thumb is to allow about 60 to 90 minutes, instead of 30 with a car.
