Which resort on New Years Day?

We are flying in on a red-eye 1/1 and will be heading out on our cruise 1/2 from PC. We have a great rate at the Dolphin and plan to spend 1/1 in park. Since we are at the Dolphin, we are thinking either Epcot or HS. Our kids are 4, 7, 9, and from what I have read/heard, both parks will likely not be all day parks for them so a midafternoon break/leaving early is fine. I also managed to score PPO reservations at Epcot in case we decide to go there on 1/1. We are returning to WDW after our cruise so whatever we don't hit now, we will do when we get back. My main question is, what park will be best for us on 1/1. Crowd calendars have both being pretty busy.Our fastpass opens tomorrow and if we decide on Epcot, I want to get FEA if possible.

We usually go from 12/24-1/1. Last year we stayed until 1/2.

Walking into EPCOT on 1/2 was surreal. It was empty. Maybe that's comparatively speaking, seeing as you couldn't move on 12/31, but holy cow was it night and day (literally!)

Can't speak for DHS. I guess it comes down to—are you more interested in the rides at DHS or a relaxed day of eating at EPCOT?
