Which resort if not going to parks?

We are doing a non parks trip in August and staying at SSR (developer points). At first I was disappointed, but the more I researched it the better it seemed. It sounds like the perfect location for a family not doing parks. Our days will be filled with fun and sun, downtown Disney, resort hopping and maybe even a spa treatment. We are getting so excited, only 72 days left!:yay:

Did I notice THREE people wanted to stay at BCV because its close to BWV. :confused3

How about just staying at BWV?? :cloud9:

I would agree that the best non-park vacation would be at Vero or Hilton Head.

I don't ever see us having a non-park trip in Florida. We won't even go to Vero because its too close to Walt Disney World, but yet too far away.

I'm not sure I could go to a DVC resort at WDW and not go to a park either. We are going to Vero in a about a week and not doing any parks. We are going down a day early staying offsite and heading to Boardwalk for dinner and to stroll around a little bit.

We stayed 6 nights at AKV last summer for our 15th anniversary (without the kids) and never went to a park! We really felt like AKV is a destination within itself. Bear in mind this was before Kidani was even open, so that will take it to a whole different level. We never felt bored or tempted to go to the parks. We just enjoyed sitting on the balcony and enjoying the animals. Got in room dining several times and just relaxed. Jiko was so amazing that we ate there twice. Loved sitting at Victoria Falls and having a drink. Took advantage of the cultural safari, and got to meet several interesting cast members and learn about their homeland. We even kept in touch with one of them, who has since moved back to Uganda.
I cannot recommend a non-park trip to AKV highly enough. It really gave us a chance to experience the resort. Usually we are park commandos, opening and closing them. So getting a chance to stop and really relax and notice all the fine details of the resort was so refreshing. We even tried to find all the hidden Mickeys in the lobby!!!
I just think AKV is the most unique and dynamic resort experience anywhere!
