Hi just pricing around for a future trip to Florida, wanted abit of advice re onsite hotels which is best for kids and dining ???

Never stayed onsite before but we dont hire a car so buses and free dining has attracted us to the Disney this rtime round

Which Disney hotel resort would you chose for children aged 13, 16 and 7? my MIL & FIL also want to join us but would make a sep booking for them at a later date :goodvibes:goodvibes

Like the look of OKW and POL and want the free dining (if POL we would upgarde to DDP aware this would make OKW a similar Price)

This will be our 3rd trip to Florida and we only plan to get Disney tickets we've done universal IOA SW etc in previous 2 trips and dont want to go there this time TBH it would take alot of new attractions to get be back to these parks anyway:

So only spec would be what the best hotels for dining (dont plan on being at rope drop or doing any 14 hour park days on this trip :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:)
and because we plan (:rotfl:) on having a lazy disney holiday the pool would be important factor in our decision

found great flights with Virgin for last week in Aug going for 17/18 days so just need to decide the hotel now :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks

OKW you would have to get a one bedroom villa whereas POR you could get one standard room so may make a difference to the prices.

OKW doesn't have a good CS which if you are planning more resort time might be an issue.

We love OKW but always have a car and drive elsewhere to eat or get groceries and cook (generally we don't do the DDP as we are DVC). Pools are nice but only the main pool at HH has a slide the others are just 'square' pools.

POR you will have proper beds - OKW will require sleeper sofas to be used if that matters to you. DD is happy sleeping on the sleeper chair for 2 weeks no problem.

Not much help really :rotfl:

Elsie what about if I put DS 17 in with his Nan and Grandad on their booking them we all get beds in a OKW studio & POL could be standard room??

Is there a big difference in the room sizes between OKW Studio and POL standard room. Is the food courts better at POL for CS?

I love the look of POL and my instint is this is more the child friendly resort of the 2, the pool at POL looks fab.

This is why I post on DIS for excellent tips like this one ;), a CS restaurant would make a massive difference to us. I would def look to use the CS in resort with the unlimited drink.

My DS17 has specifically said he is not coming this time if we drag him round all the parks like last time:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: He is happy chilling on his blackberry with his ipod & headphones dipping in at out of the pool so by having a cs restaurant onsite both my sons (and us too) could and use the QS meal during the day then we could save the TS and all go out for our night time meal, what a plan great thinking
