Good morning all!!
We are looking to come back to the "world " in Febuary. We come every year and since our child has special needs, the resort is every bit as much a part of our trip as going to the parks.
This may be a shorter trip for us and I was wondering, which resort has the most magic? Does the Swan/Dolphin have as much atmosphere as the others?
We've stayed at all the Deluxes except G.F. and two of the moderates. I may be able to get a teacher's rate at S/D, so that's my real question. Will we be disappointed in the feeling there since we will be spending more time at the resort than at the parks?
Thanks ya'll! :goodvibes

I have read many good things about the Swan and Dolphin. Just be advised that they are not owned or operated by Disney. So they are not likely themed the same way the Disney resorts are. I'm sure others will have more information for you.

As far as the Swan/Dolphin, I think they are quite magical. You can't beat the location, the CMs are great, the rooms are a good size, there are lots of nice restaurants to choose from, you're right near the Boardwalk, Fantasia Minature Golf.

However, your question is what resort has the most magic. My vote would be the Polynesian. The Poly has a laid-back feel to it and the landscaping is beautiful. We love the beach area - you can have fun just sitting on the beach and watching all the watercraft zip around the Seven Seas Lagoon. The views are spectacular! You can watch the electrical water pageant and the fireworks from the beach. But there is something intangible about the Poly that makes it magical. I feel Walt's spirit when we're there. It's something I just can't explain.

Oh - and convenience. You can't beat it. You've got the monorail not only to MK, but the TTC is a short walk away and there you can board the train for Epcot. There's a boat launch and the Ferry to choose from as well. I think the Poly has a specific handicapped building, although I can't rememeber which longhouse it is right now, just for handicapped guests. There is even a separate parking lot for the longhouse.

That's my 2 cents worth....have fun wherever you stay.

I think all the resorts on Disney property each have their own kind of disney magic. We have been staying at the moderates and love them-they have great theming, comfortable accomodations and lots of Disney magic. But in our opinion, though we have yet to stay there, there is something about the Polynesian Resort that gets us-we go there every trip other for a meal or just to check it out and it is so magical!
To respond to your questions about Swan and Dolphin Resorts-after seeing them when we went for dinner at the Swan, I think they are really nice, I am sure very comfortable and they are in a great location but I do think they lack that special magic the Disney resorts have. JMHO.
Good luck deciding where to stay! :)

Thanks to all who responded. What I'm "hearing" is that the Swan/Dolphin is a nice place to stay, but for more of that Disney feeling stay in a Disney resort.
That's great with me! We stayed at the Poly last Febuary and loved it,and since we spend so much time at the resort, it's worth the extra money to invest.
Thanks again everyone. This is just the sign I needed to make the decision for the Poly. :earsboy:
