I am under the impression from a conversation I just had with Old Key West that there is different DVC merchandise at different resort gift shops. Not just resort specific, but DVC in general.

I just got back from OKW and was amazed at how little DVC merchandise they had. Boardwalk had even less. Have only been to those 2 so can't really compare.

Ditto for BCV. I was all set to spend some $ on DVC stuff, and just couldn't find much! HHI had a little, but not much. I guess OKW had the most out of those three that I have been to, but I'd hardly say I was impressed with the selection there, either.

that is a suprise when I was there in July - OKW has a lot of member merchandise. at least one whole thing was for DVC merchandise - another for OKW DVC merchandise - or least part of it.

the BCV has the biggest gift shop but it shares with the BC - but they seem to have alot of DVC stuff too.

at vwl (wl gift shop) sometimes you have to ask for it - I think this shop actually sells out of it.

both BCV and VWL have more stuff from their DVC/WDW resort than general DVC stuff - or that has been my experience.

I voted for OKW too. They had a pretty nice selection on our last trip.

HHI, on the other hand, had the worst gift shop I've seen so far. I'll be stunned if it even gets a single vote. DW and DD were dying to buy something, and they walked away empty handed. I'm pretty sure that's the first time DW's done that in 25 years of marriage, so you know it was bad. :)

We just got back and found a great selection at OKW - including a DVC license plate that I had been yearning for and thought wasn't available. BCV has some merchandise, but not the same items we found at OKW. Haven't checked the other DVC resorts.

How would anyone really know unless they have visited all of the resorts.

Value of this poll is questionable?

We bought our DVC mugs at OKW, and DH has a wonderful DVC golf shirt from VWL. VB was the only one which had the member pins when we were there, so we've been lucky at finding things we like.

Then don't answer it. I know there are a vast number of EXPERIENCED DVC'ers here, and what better place to get an idea of a way to cut down on either phone calls or trips to different resorts when on vacation. Sorry to have bothered you kathleena.

I think part of the problem is that it can vary so much from one trip to the next.

We went to SSR the week that it opened and found a nice selection. Don't know that it was "the most", but certainly more than BWV had at the time (which is where we were staying.)

Got myself an SSR polo shirt and a tee shirt. DW made me put the hat back. :(

When we were there back in August we visited OKW,BWV,BCV and SSR( looking for DVC clothing in 3X for DH).SSR had the most DVC merchandise.Got a jacket for me,shot glasses for DH and DS,magnets, baseball cap,car stickers.Had to stop DH and MIL from buying out the place!! :rotfl: But no "Pooh-sized "clothing:(

OKW seems to have the most. I suspect that is because it is a very large and DVC only resort. Probably SSR will do the same, but I have not been there yet.

I'd glad you asked this question...here's a bump hoping for more responses.

Oops... I voted for BWV because it has a very good gift-shop on the boardwalk. But as far as DVC merchandise goes, there's slim pickings.

The believe OKW is a more DVC central as far as shopping goes.

Question to all you DVC shop-a-holics. :wave2:

Has anyone seen a DVC plate frame in any of the gift shops?

I had called OKW, and they said they didn't have it, and I should try some of the other ones.

I have never seen an official DVC plate frame. But I did have some made at a engraving shop at our mall for $10 each. I saw an online place that makes them also, but they were $14.95 each plus shipping.

Lack of DVC stuff is a recurring theme on these boards. You would think Disney would figure out that they are losing a ton of potential $$$$ by not marketing the DVC logo more. Even if the opened an on-line DVC shop, it would seem they would make a killing. It would finally give us a reason to visit the official web site.

Just doesn't seem like Disney to miss an opportunity like this.
