Hi can't make up mind. I love resorts with fun theming and with activites for kids but want easy transport around parks and good food court as wont have car, we will need a suite or two rooms. My kids love swimming so easy access to pools would b great, we hope to have lots of rest days as gonna b there for 3 weeks. Any ideas pls

From your list, I'd try to rent Disney Vacation Club (DVC points). You could rent a 2 bd at either Wilderness Lodge, Bay Lake Towere, Beach Club, or Boardwalk. I picked these because:

Bay Lake Towers( no food court)

Walk to Magic Kingdom.

Walk to Magic Kingdom and take the monorail to Epcot.

Take buses to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

Take monorail to Epcot walk to Hollywood Studios(30 minute walk) or take the boat t the International Gate.

Wilderness Lodge (only one that does have a food court)is a boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom.

You can either go to that park or hop the monorail to Epcot.

You could also take the boat to the Magic Kingdom, take the monorail to Epcot and then take the boat from the International Gate to Hollywood Studios.

If you want to go to Hollywood Studios more quickly, take a bus and for Animal Kingdom, you have to take the bus.

The Beach Club and Boardwalk (no food courts at either)are walking distance to both Epcot (8minutes) or Hollywood Studios(15-20 minutes) or you could take the boats.

To get to Magic Kingdom, either take the bus or walk through Epcot and hop the monorail(20 minute walk).

You have to take a bus to Animal Kingdom and the bus is probably faster to the Magic Kingdom.

Any moderate or value resort you will have to take the bus. They really are not that far away and you'll save $$$ if you can't rent points.

I think I have the information correct. If not, someone will come along and correct it for you.

Couple of minor corrections (so as not to mislead or confuse the original poster):
There's no direct monorail from the Magic Kingdom to Epcot. She/he would need to take one monorail from MK to the Ticket & Transportation Center, then transfer to the Epcot monorail.

Also, on arriving at Epcot, they'd either need to enter and walk all the way through the park, then out the International Gateway, to reach the DHS-bound boat; or they could get on the bus that runs between Epcot and DHS.

Or they could save a lot of time and just take the direct bus from WL to DHS.

Given the number of people in your group, and especially the length of your stay, I would think that you would be most comfortable in either a villa or an offsite condo/house. With a 3 week stay I know that I would like the idea of a functional kitchen and an in-suite washer/dryer.

Frankly, even the family suites would seem claustrophobic to me LOOOONG before 3 weeks was up.

Whether you choose to stay onsite or not will probably be budget driven.

Thanks for the corrections. I was trying to think of all of the options. I didn't realize that there was a us from Epcot to DHS.

We are a family of 6. 4 DDs ages 9, 11, 15, and 17. I hate to assume, but you did not mention that there would be 2 adults. If so, then you are a party of 6.

Value, Mod and Deluxe all have rooms that will accommodate 6 without being a villa.

ASMu family suite (we stayed at)
- 2 bathrooms, which we loved
- younger kiddos loved the fold out ottoman and chair to sleep on
- family suite buildings are close to main building which has food court and bus stops
- also close to pool
I had always wanted to try this resort. Kiddos and hubby were spoiled with Deluxe hotels. All liked the hotel, location of our room, pool and food court. Hubby was concerned about transportation and we had no problems with the buses.

AoA also has family suites

Coronado Springs (moderate) Junior suite
- Basically the same layout for the rooms as the family suite at ASMu. Also 2 bathrooms. Not sure of the location of these rooms. Hotel does have a food court.

Fort Wilderness
- cabins that sleep 6 with a small kitchen

WL and BWI (deluxe)
- the only rooms available for your size of family at these hotels are Club Level. Loved loved loved the WL. Boat ride to MK was wonderful. Kiddos loved the pool. Never went to food court because of being CL. Can't wait to stay at BWI on our upcoming trip.

As a PP stated, villas are also an option.

All resorts have activities for children. Movie nights by the pool. Games at the pool during the day. Some have an evening story time with cookies. I know WL does but not sure of other resorts.

My kids have had a blast at all the resorts we have stayed at. I always try to pick what is convenient for hubby and myself so we are happier for the kiddos. You really won't go wrong with any of the resorts in my opinion.
