Hello,
We are new members though we have travelled to DW many times with friends over the years. We have stayed at many different Disney properties during those trips and loved them all! We don't have kids so never paid much attention to what they may prefer before...
Now we are planning s family trip for next July. My BIL, SIL, and their 2 kids 9 and 4 in one room; myself, DH, MIL, AND FIL in another for a one week trip. For everyone else but my MIL, this will be their first timetable Disney, and realistically last for quite awhile.
We went everything to go smoothly for them and have an unforgettable time. We have points to spare, but only 7 month booking window.

What resort would you recommend if this was your family? They want to do all the parks of course and have a day or two in between to enjoy the pool. They also are not big foodies Nd would be fine with fast food though my husband and I will sneak away to restaurants now and again :)
TIA!

What about a split stay, monorail resort and Epcot resort. Monorail resort for the MK, 3 nights and Epcot resort, 4 nights for Epcot, DHS and AK.

Kidani has a great pool for the kids, but is a poor choice for quick service.
BWV has the clown pool.(may be a big negative to some) Fast food is limited at BWV.

If you are talking studios, I would rule out BLT as those studios are about the smallest. Otherwise BLT is a great location, nice pool and good fast food...and you can say that about other monorail resorts.

For studios, currently GFV, Poly, and VWL have an extra bed (nice for 2 kids). But VWL is undergoing major construction.

Poly is a good choice if you're looking at studios. They have the largest studio on property. Access is pretty good to Epcot and MK. Restaurants are pretty available bc you have poly and gf that's walkable,

We took a family, 3 generation trip last year and loved our choice, OKW. They're the biggest balconies with a big round table where every day we'd sit outside watching the ducks and golfers. And the big rooms were a plus too!

I would definitely go for a two bedroom unit so you have a living room and kitchen. It will make a world of difference over a week's stay. OKW has a large living room. That's the one I would choose.

We love Beach Club if you plan on swimming and going to Epcot! We also love AKL. We just did Jambo House for the first time and loved the location of the room... Much less spread out than we were at Kidani. BLT is my husbands favorite (partially for the rounded edges on the furniture so our little ones didn't lose an eye lol). OKW was great when we traveled with 7 people. We had a 2 BR and never felt crowded. We also had a ground floor corner unit with a big screened in porch, which added an extra hang out area.

Have fun wherever you go!!!!

We too did OKW with Sister's family of 4 in tow, 3 of us. Loved having the living room and back patio. Sitting out for morning coffee watching golfers and sitting around the fire pit late into the evening. Our favorite is still BWV but with younger kids found AKV and OKW to be more enjoyable.

I would try and book a 2BDRM theme park view room at BLT. I think it would make for extra special memories for the kids. They would always have a view of Cinderella's castle and the monorail going past. You would also get 3 full bathrooms. You can walk to MK and monorail to Epcot. If the party wants to split up on certain days, you have the bus depot over near MK with busses to take you anywhere on Disney property The Contempo Cafe has really good quick service meals which you can eat there or bring back to the room.
