I just wanted to say that I posted this on the resort board as well but I am interested what the people on the CB think?

I wanted to pick you brain as to where you would stay (if given the choice) of the following and why?

CSR (which building)
CBR (same question)
POFQ (we have stayed here before)
POR (took the boat over and swam while @POFQ)
PC (just to try the "NEW PLACE")
AKL (DD wants to stay here)

Also we may be bringing a 11yr DD best friend and she has never stayed on property before, I would like her to be amazed!

Thanks,
Lisa

The only place I've stayed on your list is AKL. We were there for two nights 11/1 and 11/2. It was absolutely beautiful. We had reserved standard rooms (due to a last minute game plan we needed to spend the same amount as the Clearwater hotel we would have been staying at) and were expecting parking lot views! However, the Magic began as soon as we arrived, and were upgraded to a deluxe savannah view. It was pretty amazing to sit on the balcony each morning and evening and watch the giraffes. If you do chose not to get savannah view (and there is no gaurantee that you'll see animals even if you do pay for one), there are many 'viewing' areas around the hotel.

Will there just be 4 of you if you bring your DD's friend? The square footage in this resort is pretty small (I thought the deluxe size room was equal to an average hotel room). Of course, if it's just two nights, room size is lest of an issue IMO.

I think the 'animal' aspect of this hotel really makes it special place to stay.

I love AKL - it was the first resort that we ever stayed in and istill our favorite.

We did like CSR - any of the cabanas would meet your needs but 9b or 8a would be my first 2 choices.

Another AKL vote here too! If I can't stay at OKW, it HAS to be AKL! I even went out on the balcony to watch animals at midnight!

We haven't stayed at AKL, but have visited there....it is very high on the WOW factor, but I think moreso for adults than kids, simply because it has a more 'adult' feel to it than other resorts (IMO).

My kids and I stayed at both the Yacht Club and Coronado Springs.....they actually liked Coronado a little better, I think. They *loved* the pool there and it was very pretty and relaxing. YC/BC is a little busier (although of course they liked the pool there, too!).

CS might be a little more budget friendly, though, so that you can afford some extras you might not otherwise enjoy. This probably wasn't much help, but there ya go. LOL

or a government employee..or nurse......why not go for the Swan/Dolphin.....because you are only going to be there for a short time.....you are right there between Epcot and MGM studios and the other parks are within reach with the busses.......the location is something else.......it is the ultimate of Disney and being able to go go go to all the parks so easily

AKL!!!!!!!::yes:: :Pinkbounc
We are just back and it is incredible! We have stayed at several other deluxes and all the mods and this was by far the best! We also received a magical upgrade to Savannah view-so I will have to book that from now on! The storytelling and cookie decorating were great for the kids! LOTS of other free activities for the kids and DD had a blast! SO much to see and do there. We took a day to just stay there and explore. Found all the hidden Mickeys too. :p This is DD's favorite pool now because of the zero entry!
I WANT TO GO BACK!:hyper: Giraffes were right outside our second floor room feeding and getting water from a tree. Where else can one enjoy this from their balcony?

That's what I was going to say...
AWESOME location...:D

Good option Pumba. The location of the Swan/Dolphin is terrific and the 'heavenly' beds are just that. I'd only hesitate on this location if it is important to you the the kids have a total Disney experience, though the possibility of discounted, quality rooms does give you more $$ for other things (Illuminations cruise or the like). The location of any of the Epcot resorts is a strong factor to consider (even though I previously cast my vote for AKL!). I had a one night stay at the Swan, and being able to walk 'home' from Fantasmic! was delightful (we beat the boat back!).

my dd(12) loves AKL. If it were up to her she would not stay at another hotel. She said her second choice would be POR..we stayed in bldg AB14.
