We'll be at WDW for 2 weeks in August. We're saving our DVC points using our off-site TS to stay for 2 weeks. Between the 2 weeks, we have one night that we have to stay somewhere. To get a little taste of the magic, we're probably going to use Credit Card points to stay somewhere on property.

We have enough points for a night in a studio at OKW or SSR, or a night at the Swan/Dolphin, or one of the moderates (We'd choose one of the Port Orleans resorts - enjoy that theme, the boat to DTD, and the TIW discount at POFQ food court).

We're leaning towards either the Swan/Dolphin (walkability to Epcot and DHS) or POR (boat to DTD and pool theming).

Any advice? And if we choose to stay at Swan/Dolphin, what's the difference in Swan v. Dolphin?

If you need to make sure you get ice cream @Ghirardelli in DTD and wish to go by boat, I would lean toward POR. Swan or Dolphin are pretty much the same.

I'd definitely do the Swan or Dolphin. We stayed at the Dolphin and enjoyed it. Pool is great. Dining options in that area are great. And, it's so convenient to Epcot and DHS.

Plus at the Swan and Dolphin you have the option of strolling around the Boardwalk at night while eating ice cream from Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club :thumbsup2

That's a good option too.

I stayed at the Swan a couple years ago and loved it. They have swan paddleboats that are fun, plus the boat to epcot was cool too. Swan had an awesome karaoke bar when we were there-so much fun!

the difference between Swan and Dolphin is that the Swan is smaller. Most of the restaraunts/spa/ other amenities are at the Dolphin. But they are so close together that it isn't a big deal.
