Which resort do you like better and why: Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club?

We love the Wilderness Lodge! It's laid back, beautiful scenery, lots of "extra activities" for children, mouseboats, relaxing boat ride to MK, and GREAT CM's!
The Beach Club is nice, the proximity to EPCOT, and MGM is great, but the CM's I encountered...well, let's just say I much prefer those at WL.

They are both wonderful resorts and you can't go wrong with either one but if I had to pick one over the other it would be BC because I prefer the Epcot resort location and also because BC has the BEST pool on WDW property--Stormalong Bay!

Wow! My first poll is already a tie!

I'm also wondering if one resort might be better than the other depending on the time of year (i.e. BC might be better in the spring when you can swim, but WL might be better in the winter when the Christmas decorations are up) Just a thought. I for one have no desire to sit by a fire in May or to go swimming in January!

It wouldn't let me vote, for whatever reason, so I will give you my opinion here, instead.

I far prefer the Beach Club to the WL... why you ask?

1) Decor...bright and airy
2) Convenience... just a short walk to Epcot, MGM, and varied restaurants, and nightlife
3) Pool...best on property
4) Room size... rooms at BC are bigger
5) Did I mention decor?

Although I love the themeing of the WL and always spend some time at the resort during my WDW visits the Beach Club would always win out for my stay. After the convenience of the Epcot resorts it would be very difficult to stay in the WL area. I love being able to walk around the whole Epcot/MGM area, love the dining choices,love the decor of the Epcot resorts....its just my favorite!!!

This is a terrible conundrum, almost like asking a parent to pick their favorite child, or a Beatles fan to pick their favorite album! They both have strengths. The ambience at WL is unbeatable, but so is the convenience and charm of the BC. It's a tie!

PS- We don't have kids, so thank goodness I don't have to make THAT choice. And Abbey Road is my final answer.

The WL is beautiful, but if my choice is the WL or BC, the BC wins hands down. I prefer the cool, soothing colors, SAB, and the convenience getting to Epcot and MGM. WL really has some transportation issues, IMHO.

I would prefer BC because we LOVE the Epcot resort area and Stormalong Bay. However, I'm sure WL is absolutely wonderful (never stayed there). It's a breathtaking resort. I think it simply depends on which theming you prefer and if you want to be close to MK or Epcot.

I agree with 1 of the above posts. WL does have some transportation issues.
I prefer the location, atmopsphere, & pool at the BC!

I stayed at WL last weekend and absolutely loved it! We were apparently blessed (must've been that ice cream coupon thing), and had no problems with transportation whatsoever.
DH, my boys, and I will be checking into BC tomorrow for two nights. I'll post my thoughts on it when I return!

Beach Club. It is closer to Epcot and MGM (you can walk to both from the BC, especially Epcot...just a few steps away!) Also, BC has Stormalong Bay, is across from the Boardwalk, and has Beaches and Cream, too. The main reason I like it so much is the proximity to Epcot since that is my favorite park.

I think it all boils down to which park you visit the most. I love MK, don't like Epcot at all. My 6 year old loves MK, also. The choice for us would be WL. I know it's a little wierd to think about sitting by a fire in Florida in August, but , you know, at the WL, somehow it works . We were there a couple of weeks ago. Every everning while DH put DS to bed, I would retire to a sitting area very near our room that had a couch, tables, a comfy chair, and yes, a burning fireplace, to read USA Today. It was very wonderful! The WL feeling can't be beat!!!
