Hi All,

We are leaving soon (53 days is "soon", right?!) for our second Disney Cruise. We will be driving down the night before and staying in Port Canaveral with a Stay, Park and Cruise package.

If you were choosing between the Radisson Resort at the Port and the Residence Inn Cape Canaveral which would you pick? Since it's only one night I'm less worried about resort amenities and more worried about the shuttle transport the morning of the cruise. (I know there have been multiple threads covering different hotels in the area, but I'm looking for thoughts on these two in particular and any recent experiences)

And, as always, thank you for your help and opinions. I really appreciate it!

I've heard nothing but good things about the Radisson, however we always stay at the Sheraton that's kind of connected to Ron Jon's. The parking garage links to your floor, it is a short walk to the beach, and it has lots of retail and restaurants to walk around and kill time. Also a Walgreens across the way. Its a nice spot to hang out prior to your cruise and a very short drive to the terminal (maybe 1km longer than the others) and is in the heart of things.

We stayed at Radisson post cruise in 2011 to visit Kennedy Space Center. We only stayed one night and customer service was wonderful. They had free shuttle bus to KSC at that time. I emailed and was confirmed the morning scheduled time for KSC. We took their free shuttle transfer from port to the hotel which worked well, and was told we had missed the bus. Their schedule was different from the confirmed one via email. I was disappointed and trying to book a private transfer. The front desk rep was so nice and got me returned taxi transfer to KSC all paid for by the hotel. I was really impressed by the service. Nothing special with the room but it served the purpose and we left early the next morning to catch our flight back.

We stayed at the Radisson Resort at the Port and it was great. DD15 loved the pool and the room. The service was amazing. We arrived before our room was ready and the gentleman checking us in was so helpful getting our medications refrigerated and he took our phone number to call as soon as our room was ready. We would stay there again if heading that way. And it was right across the street from McDonald's (where we grabbed a quick breakfast the morning of our cruise).

We always stay at the Residence Inn in PC. The breakfast is good, the rooms are clean, the staff is helpful and it is the closest hotel to the terminal.

Can I ask....where do you book a Stay, Park and Cruise package? Through DCL, through Radisson? Gotta ask. We would be driving down from South Carolina.

You can book those type of packages right through the hotels themselves. Many of the Port Canaveral/Cocoa beach hotels offer these type of room rates.

There is also a Port Canaveral service called "GoPortCanaveral" that books packages at area hotels.

Good Luck and Happy Cruising! :)
