We are trying to decide which resort to stay at the night after our cruise.

We are cruising Oct 9-16- then planning to purchase tickets to the MNSSHP (Sat 16th) - We should get to WDW around noon on the 16th so that will leave a few hours before the party. DD11 will probably want to swim during that time.

We will then fly out the 17th.

The resorts we are looking at are ones we have not stayed at-
CR
AKL
Poly

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We're doing the same thing; planning a night or two at Disney World following our 7 night western caribbean Disney cruise, this August.

We decided to stay at the Polynesian because we're planning on having at least 2 meals there anyway (O'Hana for dinner, Kona Cafe for breakfast or lunch), and since it's right next to the Ticket and Transportation Center, it'll save us a lot of time getting around WDW. We also LOVE the theming of this resort, and since we're a family of 4, with 2 teenaged sons, we like the fact that all the rooms have 2 beds PLUS a sofa bed. DSs don't like sharing a bed, and at their ages and sizes, I don't blame them! LOL

I love the theming of AKL and want to stay there eventually, but for a short trip, we want to make the most of our time there, so for this trip we don't want to have to rely solely on bus transportation.

In my opinion, stay at either the Contemporary or the Polynesian!

Have a great cruise :boat: and trip to WDW ::MickeyMo

I would stay at CR because it's closest to MK & you can walk if you want. With only 1 night, you're not going to want to waste any time on transportation.

Thanks,

I am leaning toward the CR and Poly, I would also love to stay at AKL, but will probably save for a longer trip.

Seaspray,
I hope you have a great cruise also...

I agree that the CR would be a good idea. We stayed there in December and it was great to be able to just take a stroll down the sidewalk after MVMCP and not have to deal with the mob scene at the monorail and buses. It was about a 10 minute walk.

The CR has a nice pool. It has a waterslide and several water fountains for the children to play in. It also has a separate quiet pool.

We’ve stayed at the AKL for one night once, and it was great. That trip was just exploring and enjoying the resort for the two days we stayed (no theme parks). It worked out great and was a perfect little get-away to a very exotic location. But, since your going to MNSSHP, and the AKL is landlocked, I think the Contemporary would be the best for your trip.

allforpooh,

We have not stayed at the Contemporary yet, so I don't know much about that one, but we had a great time staying at the Polynesian.

Our favorite resort is AKL, but I agree with the others, save that one for another longer trip. BTW, we too are going on the 10/9/04 western cruise.:) I have a daughter that will be 10 1/2 when we go. Maybe we will bump into each other.:wave2:

Since you have a DD 11, take a look at the Beach Club. Its pool, Storm-A-Long Bay, is the largest at Disney.

It has a great water slide....covers about 3-acres...a sand bottom. Kids just love it.

This is a Deluxe Resort, so you'll have a comfy room. It's a bus ride to MK & ALK. Walking distance to Epcot & Boardwalk. A boat ride to Disney Studio's.

Just some food for thought.
