Hi,

Would someone be kind enough to post a list or link to the all inclusive exchanges.

I'm confused about this as well. The DVC website has the disclaimer about all-inclusive and what that means, but I can't figure out where it's indicated which of the DVC available RCI choices are all inclusive. One link above is for the higher end (higher point) exchange possibilitie (Registry Collection) and one is an RCI link that has a bunch of resorts that may or may not be included as DVC eligible.

:confused3

When you're looking at the available RCI choices for DVC, it will state whether the resort is all inclusive.

For example see this list of RCI Caribbean resorts for DVC. On page one, you will see "All Inclusive - Mandatory" stated for two resorts - Festiva Sailing Vacations at Nanny Cay (#7541) & MVC at Meliá Caribe Tropical (#5476). If you click on the link for Festiva Sailing Vacations at Nanny Cay (#7541), it will provide you with a link to the all inclusive information for this resort - http://ai.rci.com/displayResort?id=7541

I hope this helps

Each resort will list on the front page if it's mandatory or optional AI as well if it's an RCI points resort. If one is looking specifically for AI, once you get to a region (USA, MX, etc), you can screen by AI as well making it easier to find them. There are roughly 400 resorts that are AI with most being mandatory but some being optional. A large portion are MX and similar locations like DR. going through the DVC resort to get to RCI you'll need flash and a current java option with popups enabled. I'm not aware of a good list that doesn't use something along those lines, sorry. If you have an area in mind we could list those resorts for you.

The link above is for the Registry Collection resorts for DVC.

Here's the RCI all inclusive resorts link - http://ai.rci.com/. You'll need to check to verify whether the resort is on the DVC resort list.
Thanks for the link:goodvibes

Ok....I'm gonna click on those links now....thanks so much.

I am open for a caribean all inclusive....but I would really love something within Driving distance from NY. Say no further than Niagara falls, and south of Ocean City Maryland...and so.
Thanks so much....I love these boards:love:

So if you exchange to an all-exclusive resort, do they charge you a daily fee based on your party size and ages, similar to how the dining plan works?

It varies. Some are daily pp. Some are weekly for up two 2 people. And the prices vary greatly as does the quality.

I think RCI does not have any AI in the US, there is one that shows up on RCI's list but it doesn't actually say it has an AI when you select it.

I was looking at the Trapp Family Lodge.....
A 1BR for a week is 600pts.:scared1: Holy Christmas...I could do DCL for that.

I don't even think that included food.....I think it was listed in the all inclusive part though:confused3

600pts....could that be right:eek:

I was looking at RCI, not the registry collection. For 600 points it should come with a chef, maid, valet, butler and daily massages. RCI listed ONE as AI in the US (all RCI) but when you pulled up that resort it did not say it was AI. There are some resorts that include specific types of items such as lift tickets, golf, water park and the like. Some charge extra, some don't. Smugglers Notch is one that comes to mind as providing a fair amount of additional items and charge extra for some, not for others. I haven't actually looked to see if it's on the DVC list and given we're about to board the plane for Aruba (next 30 min or so), I don't think I'll have time to do so right now. This would be a good and fair question to post for TUG to solicit resorts that have sizeable extras and whether they charge or they are included. Much like one might ask about pools at DVC resorts and then find that SAB is head and shoulders above the rest plus you can't PH there even as members unless you're staying. I hear Trapp is a nice option but not 600 points nice, I've never stayed in a timeshare unit I though was worth 600 DVC points. Maybe a 3 BR at DVC during certain times and possibly a 3 BR at the Maui Westin or Marriott peak times(I don't think Westin has 3 BR) but that's about it I can even think of for resorts I've personally seen.

To be clear, when I talk about AI, I'll talking more the cruise type of experience where at least most food, some drinks are included and as a minimum, non motorized recreation craft. I realize they will all vary somewhat. And if I talk RCI, I'll be talking RCI and not the registry collection.

The Registry collection looks like terrible deals. As Dean says, for 600 points, it should come with its own private staff!

I'd expect any all-inclusive in RCI (including the Registry Collection) to charge a separate all-inclusive charge, but I don't know for a fact whether the Registry Collection. does 600 points would be somewhat better for an all-inclusive that included the all-inclusive charges that if it were just for the room, but it's still too high.

Any DVC member who wants one of the Registry Collection resorts would do better to do a direct exchange, rent out their points and rent the desired week directly, or use an independent exchange company. I'm thinking of writing up an FAQ on how to do this, if anyone shows interest in that. I own a bunch of timeshares, and use independent exchange companies a lot.

As for all-inclusives in RCI in general (not the registry collection), if the all-inclusive package is mandatory, it is usually either a mediocre deal or a terrible one. Of all the RCI mandatory all-inclusives, the only ones I know of that are a good deal are the Tradewinds Cruise Clubs. (These are small boats that do in fact come with a "semi-private" cook -- there is a captain and cook onboard for about 3 couples.)

I am VERY interested in that. Is it any safer to rent a timeshare through these exchange companies....I was going to rent DVC points...but I was too afraid....Wound up buying them:lmao:
