Or does it matter??? The one at DTD or AK.

Is your preference due to food or the atmosphere???

Thanks.

I have only eaten at the one at AK, but have heard that that was the better one. I can't remember where I heard that, but once I find it, I'll post it.

I would imagine that the AK location wouldn't be as busy since if you went to eat there, you would be there specifically to visit AK or the AKL. The one at DTD offers so many other things that it might be more crowded with people just walking around.

Does that make sense??? I'm not sure...I'll reread this tomorrow and edit it to be more logical. :lmao:

By the way...dinner there was great. Loved the atmosphere and food. We were served in a timely manner, all the food was cooked the way we wanted it, and the servers were great.

The only other time I had eaten at the Rainforest Cafe was at Disneyland Resort Paris, so I wasn't sure if there were going to be any major differences in food or atmosphere.

To me, all RC's are the same :) I have been to one here in NJ and the two at WDW, it's all the same to me. I love it there, great food and so much fun! :thumbsup2 :wizard:

We've eaten at both.

My family says they ever so slightly prefer the atmosphere at the one at Animal Kingdom. Although they did enjoy the birds outside of the one in Downtown Disney.

Do you have to have admission to the park to be able to eat at the one in AK?

No. It is just outside the gates.

we like the one at downtown disney better...people are friendlier...atmosphere better..and you have all of downtown disney to enjoy...

Thanks for the comments.

I'm headed to WDW in September and thought we might enjoy this restaurant. We have never ate at one before but I've been told the atmosphere is awesome!!

Thanks again.

Agree, seen one RFC, ya seen 'em all.
I like the AK RFC better. But that is not to say the DTD is bad.
Although at DTD you have the convenience of the other stores and PI right there.

Eaten at both of them and a few others.

Like the atmosphere, but this chain has the SLOWEST kitchen in the industry. (And generally my server just disappears.... I have sworn off them...)

My daughter and I tried the DTD one for lunch on 12/31/99. Yes, it was so bad I remember the date! Bad front desk, friendly but missing server, indifferent food served very slowly.

But we have had very good service at the AK RFC. Since two in our family really enjoy it we go most trips for lunch. The food is just OK...too many things to do all things well I think.... but we've found a couple things we like and every server has been great.

We have eaten at both RF's many times and have enjoyed them both. Last year we had a party of 10 at the AK one and we had great service, good food, and a lot of fun. We have never had slow service or bad food. We really enjoy the atmosphere and I love to look through the gift shop.

Have a great trip!!

We've eaten at both and will never eat at any again. The food was terrible at both. Service was worse at DTD, but that's not to give the AK RFC any credit at all. And they both are sooooo noisy.

Neither one. Never again.

I've eaten at both many time, but I swore off the DTD location a few years ago.

The food and service I've gotten at the AK location has always been much better, and the wait times much shorter, than the DTD location.

We love both of them and one near us here at home. I didnt notice a difference between AK or DTD. We had a seating mishap with the AK one and they comped our appetizers. So that made up for the problem. Food and service have always been good for us. Enjoy!

RFC is a chain, so menus, atmosphere and quality are similar no matter the location. Like Applebees, Chilis, etc... We have found the AK restaurant to be less crowded ( usually ), but the DTD RFC has the outside seating area, which is nice when the weather is pleasant.

Have a great trip!

We enjoy DTD, so if we go to RFC, it will be there. Having said that, I agree with some of the other posters that the service is not good. I learned the first time I went to be ready to order everything the first time the waiter came because the amount of time between their return trips to the table is very long.
