Which preferred building at POR?

Hi all,

We are a family of 5 and will be staying at POR in October of this year, and we have a preferred room booked. For those of you who have stayed there, which preferred building would you suggest we request? We are trying to decide between 14 or 18. I know 14 is closer but I kind of like the idea that 18 has no parking view rooms. But is 18 too far? Any thoughts/advice?

I've never stayed in 18 before, but we've stated in 14 (requested and given) and 17(not sure if this is considered preferred,although not far from the main building). We loved 14 (although I'd ask for 1st floor next time due to knee issues)! It was great having such a short walk after a long day at the parks!

14 and 18 are both great buildings, having stayed in both. 18 for us, was closer to the quiet pool area and laundry facility...for us that was not a make or break it deal, and either building is great IMHO!

I have stayed there the past 3 years and each time they didn't give me my request. We always go expecting to get the furthest and we always do..lol. The last time we went we had paid for a preferred room. We requested ground floor. They couldn't even give us that! We ended up downgrading because we really wanted a ground floor room near a bus stop.I still really like the resort, i'm just letting you know just in case you don't get your request.

I booked a preferred room for my may trip and got building 14 and the first floor room I requested. It was wonderful! So close to the food court and a very easy walk to the South depot.

We had a view of the courtyar but in all honesty, we kept the blinds closed the entire time so the view really didn't matter. If this were a deluxe hotel with a balcony that I could use then the view would matter to me. At the moderates there's too much foot traffic going past the room for us to leave the blinds open to bother about the view.

Yes, the 4 preferred buildings are in AB.

I am very interested in people's opinions too. We are staying in a preferred room for 9 nights in October and was thinking about requesting bulding 18 near the quite pool. I have no idea if this is a popular request, but i thought this would be convenient. Is it a long walk to the closest bus stop?

You can check out the map on the POR thread or portorleans.org.

You will most likely use the main stop, since you are close to the food court and main building. It is to the right, just outside the outer entrance to Fulton's General Store.
