From what I've heard and the pictures I've seen on wdwig.com sometimes garden view rooms include partial views of the lagoon. Does anyone know which buildings these might be? I'm not concerned with being located near anything specific just the best possible view. I'd appreciate any information!!!

Check out Tikiman's site he has great information on view at all the long houses. You'll have to do a search using Tikiman and click on his link to his website.

I stayed at the Polynesian last November and had room #1913 in the Tokelau building and the view was amazing! It was a "garden" view, but I could see the beach, lagoon & Grand Floridian from my room & a little more from the patio. This room is also at the end of the hallway, so the door to the walkway is just a few steps away, as is the quiet pool. It is a little walk to the main building, pool & boat launch. I would highly recommend using the boat launch as an alternative to the monorail. This is much less frequently used and a relaxing way to get to & from the Magic Kingdom. It is about a 7 or so minute walk to the TTC, but if you are looking to catch a monorail to EPCOT early in the morning, I would recommend grabbing the monorail from the Polynesian to the TTC & transferring there. The monorail to the MK starts around 7am and the one to EPCOT does not start running until 7:30am, even on early entry days. The main pool is nice, but can be quiet crowded at times. I enjoyed the quiet pool a little more, due to it's closeness to my room and it was less noisy. Also, if you want a quiet place to watch the fireworks or just relax on a hammock, head for the Tahiti beach. Most people head for the main beach, so this one is much less used and is right outside the Tokelau building. Also, Tokelau is a non-smoking building, if this matters to you. For a building closer to the main pool & building, I would suggest Samoa, however, this is a smoking building, again if this matters. I really loved the view I had and found this building and area to be quite quiet. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

I've spent many hours on Tikiman's site and it's wonderful and very informative but I couldn't seem to find an answer to my specific question. I'd love some more opinions but it does sound like Tokelau would be my best bet!!

Thanks for the information so far!!

If you dont mind smoking, go for Samoa. We had a straight on view of the volcano pool, then off a bit was the GF, the Lagoon, and if we stretched, we could even see the castle.
BTW, I am very sensitive to smoke, especially stale smoke(YUK!), and I was upset that we were given a smoking building....at first. ;) We never smelled any smoke in the room, furniture, or in the hallways, and like I said, the view was gorgeous!

We stayed at Tokelau in oct room 2912 and we had a great view of the beach, lagoon and grand flordian too, it was an amazing room with a great view.

Using Tikimans website I requested Samoa or Tokelau. I would love to have a view of the Volcano pool. I usually stay in concierge with lagoonview so this time I had to find another building.

Have a great vacation.

Thanks everyone - Samoa sounds pretty nice too! Oh decisions decisions. What about floors - 1st with a patio or something higher up with a balcony? Do all upper floors have balconies? Maybe I shouldn't make any requests and just deal with whatever I get, I can't imagine any room or view being bad!

Some GV rooms may also have a monorail or parking lot view. Aotearoa, Tonga, Rarotonga and Rapa Nui all can have either a monorail or parking lot view. There is so much greenery that they are considered GV. It depends on what side of the building you are on.

Tokelau, Niue and Samoa all have some form of garden or water (pool) views. One of my favorite is the Niue building it's a small building located in the middle of the Poly. It's only a hop, skip and a jump to the Great Ceremonial House, Captain Cook's (where you get your mugs refilled) the quite pool or the volcano pool.

The other buldings Tahiti, Somoa, Fiji or Tuvalu have either a water or GV. With Hawaii being the Concierge Building
