Hello everyone, I have a quick camera question. I now am shooting with a Canon Elph 300 which I am very happy with it unless we are in low light. I am planning a trip to Yellowstone next summer and want to upgrade my point and shoot. I've been looking at the Canon G15 and think this will meet my needs. My friend says to get the Nikon S9300. she loves hers and highly recommends it. It is a lot cheaper then the Canon. Which Camera would you buy (either one of these or another) and why? Thanking you in advance, I always find you so helpful.:)

It really depends on your budget and options you require. Example: If you can spend $600+ and don't need super zoom capabilities, then arguably the best on the market is the Sony RX-100. You really need to analyze your requirements and then do some research. A good website for camera research is dpreview.com. They have some good comparison tools,

Canon G15 is nice but is a little big....

Panasonic LX5 and LX7 are very comparable to G15. They are still not pocketable but should be smaller and they are less money with the LX5 going for as low as 200-250 and the LX7 between 300-450. Prices vary widely due to holiday sales.

For small and pocktable Canon S95/S100/110 however sometimes lens errors = need new camera.

For lowlight and pocketable look at the Nikon P310. I bought one for a trip to France to visit my DD. Needless to say, the P310 stayed in France even though she has a dslr and another cheap p&s.
These are handheld, some set on "p" and some 'scene', no flash
it has a 24-100mm f/1.8 lens
