Which place would you suggest for a nice anniversary celebration dinner?

We have reservations at AKL and have considered JIKO'S. Is it good? Hubby is VERY picky eater so I'm worried about him. Thanks for any suggestions :)

That's so funny, when I saw the title of your thread, I was planning to reply and recommend Jiko's! :goodvibes Not only for the food, but this is a beautiful restaurant in a very beautiful and romantic resort to walk around before or after dinner.:lovestruc

BUT after seeing that your DH is a picky eater, Jiko's might not be your best choice.

I am going to suggest Artist's Point over at the Wilderness Lodge. This food is a bit more accomodating for a picky eater and it's very good. The atmosphere and resort and (IMHO) just as romantic, if not more, than AKL.

Have a great time wherever you choose!!

I would suggest Jiko. It's our favorite. I think I'm kind of picky since I don't like seafood and you can't go wrong with the filet with mac and cheese. They also have a chicken dish that looks good, but I can't bring myself to order anything but the filet. The atmosphere is great too.

We always eat at JIKO and just returned from a trip where we took guests who are very picky eaters. They were nervous going in but enjoyed JIKO very much. They have a lovely filet mignon there in a wine reduction sauce. So one of our picky eaters had that and loved it as the sauce was mild, not spicy at all. The other person had braised short ribs and said they were great.

Some of the appetizers can be adventurous although our picky eaters were willing to try them and did like some and not others but they did try.

The staff is very accommodating. If you were to ask for something to be left off or put on the side instead of in the food, they would do this for you. Also ask all the questions you want before ordering to determine whether a dish may be suitable for you. DH had the chicken and told me later that it was actually a bit spicy for him--he should have asked first!

It's a beautiful restaurant and I hope you find food to enjoy and have a great evening there.
