We always eat at JIKO and just returned from a trip where we took guests who are very picky eaters. They were nervous going in but enjoyed JIKO very much. They have a lovely filet mignon there in a wine reduction sauce. So one of our picky eaters had that and loved it as the sauce was mild, not spicy at all. The other person had braised short ribs and said they were great.
Some of the appetizers can be adventurous although our picky eaters were willing to try them and did like some and not others but they did try.
The staff is very accommodating. If you were to ask for something to be left off or put on the side instead of in the food, they would do this for you. Also ask all the questions you want before ordering to determine whether a dish may be suitable for you. DH had the chicken and told me later that it was actually a bit spicy for him--he should have asked first!
It's a beautiful restaurant and I hope you find food to enjoy and have a great evening there.
