I only have a few pins(8-10) and need ideas of which ones to hunt down.I yanked 2 from trading(Doug Live and Tron) since those may be worth something and Tron since it was a coup to find

It all depends on what you like. Different pins are worth different things to different people. Check out pinpics, it has a huge database of pins that exist out there and may give you an idea. In the meantime, pick what you like and trade for those.

I'm thinking of trying to get a pin of Stitch and is there one for Mary Poppins

I'm just starting, myself, but I know of at least 3 Mary Poppins pins (DD's favorite.)

Related question- is there a reference people use to determine the value of a pin? A book, or a website? I'm starting to get some pins that people tell me are valuable, but I have no idea what that means.

Value is too vague a term. If you look at the auction sites, the prices vary depending on how much someone want to spend and desires the pin. So I don't go by that. Pinpics, while not giving a monetary value, will tell you the desirability of the pin by the number of people trading vs the number of people wanting the pin. Books are out of date even before they are printed in this hobby.

Thanks, Daber. So, the only real value is how badly I want to keep it vs how badly someone else wants it, right?
