Which park, which days?

We'll be touring the parks 4/13-16 (Sunday-Wednesday). Our initial game plan looks like this:

Sunday: MGM
Monday: AK
Tuesday afternoon (morning off) MK
Wednesday: MK

Obviously, we're bypassing Epcot. Our kids are 8 and 5.

Does anyone recommend a different approach considering potential spring break crowds? Is a full day at AK and MGM too much?

Thanks!

I wonder the same thing. Have been looking for recommendations myself. The one that sticks to mind is that some folks have said the best time for AK is the weekend. Also, you know that the park that has the early morning surprise, or whatever, is going to be the most crowded. Also keep in mind that if there is only one showing of Spectromagic during a week, that day at MK is probably going to be very crowded too, so plan accordingly.

Are you staying at a Disney Resort? Extra Magic Hours came back last October. This may alter your plans. If you can take advantage go to the early opening if not avoid that park.
The listing I have is:
Sunday------MK
Monday------AK
Tuesday-----MGM
Wednesday-EP
Thursday----MK
Friday--------AK
Saturday----MGM

Nanjo, please explain your list. Are these the EE days for each park or is this your recommendation on what parks to visit on what day?

We're not staying in a Disney resort. Luckily, we have relatives in Orlando and will be staying with them.

Can't we still do EE without being resort guests?

You must be staying on site to use EE. Based on the schedule you have outlined, I would change my AK day to avoid the additional crowds since that is an EE day. Maybe swap Sun and Mon? That way you would avoid the EE days all around.

Sorry for the confusion. I listed which the days the parks have Extra Magic Hour. They do check room keys for WDW resort guests.

Just found out that they started EE again, but we're starting our week on Mon and ending on Thurs-do you think that two kids aged 12 and 10 will be able to wait until the last day to do MK??

Boy thats a tuff one. I would hate to put off MK until the last day by design. You never know what the weather will bring. We tend to do the most important things (to us) first. We have done the EE days several times and I really don't see the big deal. If you are there at rope drop the fisrt couple of things you do are just about walkons anyway and that hour goes very fast.

Just for clarification, EE and Extra Magic Hour are two different things, right? The way I understand it, EMH is only open to resort guests but any park guest can take advantage of EE.

Extra Magic Hour is the new Early Entry. EE was discontinued with the 9/11 cutbacks. It was/is for resort guests. One of the outcrys over the discontinuation of EE that there was no advantage to staying at a Disney Resort.

My DD is 8 and LOVES Epcot... in fact, because of her, we went to that park 3 times instead of the intended one.

For 4 days, I would do: AK on Sunday, MGM on Monday, Epcot the evening of Tuesday (since it is open until 9) and MK all day on Wednesday.

You will need a full day at all of the parks, if not more... so choose your attractions wisely!
