Which park on which day

Just starting to plan an October trip. In the past, I have planned our park days based on things like going to a park the day after EMH, when crowds should be lower. But with the current situation (which may well change before we go) is there any particular logic to which days to pick for each park? Or is it more just whatever order we feel like choosing?

I’m having the same questioning but for a trip first week of March (Feb 26-March 3 2022). So far, I decided to avoid Epcot on the weekends. No idea if there are days we should avoid certain parks...

All of the parks will always be the busiest on the weekends. Epcot is busier on the weekends and in the evenings because that is when the locals come to hang out in the World Showcase. We like doing Animal Kingdom on the weekends because it is a less busy park anyway, and saving the other parks for during the week. That said, we've done other parks on the weekends plenty of times and it's been fine. With COVID, you probably won't feel much of a difference crowd-wise on different days of the week. A lot of people like to do Magic Kingdom on their first or last day (or both).

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are least crowded days at all parks. Saturday and Monday are most crowded for Magic Kingdom. Weekends are crowded at Epcot. From what I have read you can go to Hollywood Studios any day, because the park reservations are almost always full.

Typically we would use a crowd calendar site but let's be honest - throw that out the window this year. When planning on our trip this year I know my husband likes to start and finish with Magic Kingdom. I plugged that into our days and planned to avoid Epcot on the weekends due to Food and Wine Festival. The other two parks I booked from what days were left.

Do you think Monday will still be more crowded for MK than Sunday, or will there be more locals on Sunday due to the 50th anniversary. Or maybe both will be equally busy because we’re arriving Columbus Day weekend. Trying to decide whether to start with MK or AK on Sunday, our first full day.

Oh gee that’s hard to say with it being Columbus Day weekend and the 50th. Probably both will be crowded. I think I would still do MK on Sunday. Maybe someone else can have some opinion on this. Then again if MK has a later closing on Sunday and not Monday that might be an indication they are expecting more crowds on Sunday. I know hours are not up yet 🙄. Let me check historical crowds and get back here.

The past 2 years. Looks like 2019 Monday was less crowded. Hard to go by 2020 because of covid.

I would vote for MK on Sunday and AK on Monday. I think MK will be busy on both Sunday and Monday. AK will probably be busier on Sunday than Monday. If you do AK on Monday, at least you have the potential to get one of them on a slower day.

The weekends are busier overall, but I think MK is particularly hard hit on weekends. And during festivals, weekend evenings in particular seem to be extra busy to me at Epcot. Beyond that, without the EMHs to take into account, I don't know that any of the ways I used to decide these things matter much anymore.

Trying to plan days of the week is making my head spin. For years, I’ve avoided MK on Mondays because of the common notion of it being the worst day and avoiding EPCOT on the weekends. Yet for the week we are there, Touring Plans has Monday the best for MK and the worst for EP!

Yeah that is weird. I use touring plans too.
